Continuosly amazing

It was our second visit to Caltagirone, and since we could not forget the fabulous meal we had last year at Il Locandiere, we headed there straight from the parking lot to book a table. It will never cease to amaze us how wonderful this fish place is, while being so far from the sea ;) some... read more

We went here for lunch because of the positive reviews in Lonely Planet and trip advisor. One person in our party was vegetarian and despite the menu advertising vegetarian options the cook was unwilling to prepare anything without seafood. How hard could it be to boil pasta and put sauce on top? A true disappointment.

This is one of my favorites restaurants in Sicily. Enjoyed the excellence in the choice of ingredients, the fantastic tastes of meals, and the wonderful waiter who was, I think, the smartest and kindest I ever met since long, including in big cities like NYC or Paris: he was passionate about his job, and made our stay a genuine discovery... We had a crude seabass for starters that was amazing! They also brought fresh and delicious bruschettas.. Then we ordered 4 different pastas, all with fish. All of them were very tasty, the fish was always fresh (believe me, I'm from Portugal) and the wine was perfect (their recommendation). It's definetly a #1 restaurant and we paid 84€ for four... We arrived a few minutes before it opened having climbed the famed stairs, but they sat us early. Tip all you need is the fish Antipasto and one primi patti. The Antipasto was to do die for ! Herring with orange, Mussel...it kept coming. Delicious. The waiter was attentive and obviously wanted us to enjoy our meal. Visit Caltagirone early... More

The service was great and the atmosphere very welcoming. We had a fish antipasto which was simply divine. Our daughter preferred a simple pasta dish which was cooked to perfection. Even if in simple tomato sauce it was delicious, fresh and tasty. The combination of the various fruits and vegetables used with the different kinds of fish was very interesting... More

We had the best meal of our vacation so far. Very friendly people, a stylish dining room and the antipasti are a feast! This is why Italian food can be so good, great ingredients combined to complex tastes, without overdoing. The dessert of cannoli with warm fig marmalade was a wonderful ending. Don't miss this one out and do not... More

We chose the menu of the day. For 24 euro we got a lot of great frech fish. The cold and hot starters are simply great! With the menu you won't get off the table with hunger!

As is so often the case many people do not really know how to rate food and the reviews for this restaurant are good examples. The courses, we had the complete tasting menu, are good or very good, but not excellent. I gained the impression that the chef, who pops out of his kitchen regularly to check the tables, is... More

we stepped into a cosy restaurant and was greeted with the best Sicilian service--warm, genuine, welcoming. So much attention and detail went into the design of the menus, you immediately know that these people take pride in their restaurant and take things seriously. Our polite yet friendly server recommended the set menu( a bargain at like 20euros), and what would... More
