Classic Cantabrian cuisine

Good quality, simple straightforward execution, copious portions, well served. A good experience of classic cantabrian food.

Nice meal not much choice but what we had was enjoyable I wouldn't rush back though. The staff were friendly and helpful.

We were recommended to come here and were not at all disappointed. We tried Picos local food and wine and it's simple stuff, but excellent. This is probably not the cheapest place to eat in Potes, but we found it good value for money.

Think I'd give this 3.5, 3's a little harsh. I liked it, especially the view from the rear windows onto the river and local attractions. Our waitress was super efficient, she was scuttling her way around a packed restaurant with ease, very impressive. The menu was super traditional, a little pricier than other local places but then it's all so... More

Food was alright but nothing special, room was quite hot. There are better options available in Potes.

Top quality traditional food in ridiculous amounts. Most dishes are to share, otherwise you probably need an ambulance after ;-) Fast and very friendly service too, especially w the children. We went twice in 3 days. Recommended!

You don't expect a restaurant when you reach the place. Casa Cayo is a one star hotel with lunch and dining options at the back. But don't be mislead. The restaurant is situated near the river, so if you can find a table near the window that would a plus point. I don't remember which fish I took, but it... More

Whilst holidaying in Potes we ate twice at Caso Cayo. Both meals were delicious and well presented. My partner recommends the steak with Treviso blue cheese sauce and I recommend the cod in tomato sauce.

According to what we had been told Casa Cayo was a good and cheap restaurant in the center of Potes, in an old house next to the river. It has been operating there for a long time. It is still in the old house next to the river but not “good and cheap” any more, at least when compared to... More

Great service and local food. Portion Sizes were very generous so think we would order less next time
