Rustic and homely

I visited with my wife for a meal out treat. Finding it caused some confusion but I think that was not trusting the satnav more than its location. The pub is very traditional in appearance and inside is very rustic. Furniture is mismatched, chunky, large and all crammed into a homely, wood fire... read more

Had Sunday lunch here 3 days ago and we were well impressed, so decided to pop back for a look at the market. The market itself was held in the same rooms we had ate in on Sunday, so first of all we had a walk in the grounds and took time to say hello to the donkey, goat, lambs,... More

We have been here many times before and had really nice experiences with the service and food and have reviewed positively previously. We really like the place as the food is usually good and we love going to see the animals. However we recently went for lunch and were disappointed, putting us off going again. We had a starter that... More

We called in around 2.00, just as the busy lunchtime was easing off. We originally just meant to have a sandwich but spotted the Lunchtime special on the menu. 2 courses for £7.95. Expecting small protions we went for that as we weren't ready for a big meal. I ordered the soup followed by the corned beef pie. Absolutely delicious... More

The first chance to dine outside this year and there is no place better then The South Causey garden! Lovely surroundings Slightly disappointed to wait 30 minutes for food despite there being only 2 other diners! Another tip would be to start serving food on plates instead of a paddle! It can make meals incredibly difficult to eat and manage... More

Popped in for Lunch on bank holiday Monday. In hindsight I should have thought ahead about how busy it would really be. Great weather, place was packed. To be fair when we selected the table we were told about a 45 minute wait for food. Food in total took about 1 hour 10 minutes, but was worth the wait. Service... More

I went to this venue to view it as a Wedding venue, whilst there we had a meal in the Restaurant, the food was superb. The wait was a bit long but it was busy and well worth waiting for.

I was taken to this quaint little spot for lunch with family and friends and it definitely lived up to the recommendations. The interior is warmly furnished and gives the impression that a lot of thought went into the layout and presentation. Amongst the 7 or 8 of us there was not one complaint about the quality of the food.... More

Great bar/restaurant/hotel with real fire, lets us bring in the dog into the bar area, love that! Have had lunch plenty (super food, tasty and fresh perfect)(burger, wraps mostly all without fault) and many visits about time I left a review in a word great!
