4 course xmas meal for 13 work friends. Great atmosphere and abundant food, maybe too much food. Extra large portion sizes meant we couldn't finish our meals.

Went here for our work Christmas do. We had a carvery. For a restaurant that specialises in carveries i was expecting it at least to be nice. But the Yorkshire puddings were obviously from frozen and really chewy with no flavour. The roast potatoes were no where near roasted enough, they were powdery and not crispy in the slightest. There... More

Sitting by a warm fire in a comfortable room with delicious smells wafting through you get a feeling of timeless hospitality. We have been here in the past and enjoyed it and felt the same this time. It is always busy, a sign of the quality of the place. Staff could not be more welcoming and friendly.

I went with a group of ladies for lunch and although the food was excellent and plentiful I was horrified and disgusted by the presence of DOG EXCREMENT under the table . Not just one pile but TWO!!!!!! Apparently the managers dogs had sneaked in to do their business and left the samples beside the chairs . The waiter cleared... More

Booked in on 16.11.2014 for lunch with my partner and two kids. The restaurant is very nicely decorated and well kept, with plenty room so we didn't feel cramped. The lunches were huge!! I ordered a trio of meats and it proved a struggle to finish, which is what i'm after in a Sunday lunch. The meat was cooked very... More

Dropped in for lunch without booking, pleasantly surprised by the craft fair and farmers market in full swing.( 2nd Tuesday every month) Even though it was very busy with the fair and a big group booking of war veterans we were welcomed and given a nicely situated table. The menu was too big to choose from so we both had... More

Fireworks night and we booked a table early as this place always gets full up . Never disappoints, Phil and Susan and the team are always on form although poor Phil was stressed as it's such a huge event. They manage it well and you can tell by the shear volume of peeps here! Food as per usual is excellent,... More

Called for food on a busy Saturday afternoon and they managed to squeeze us in. The menu is fab and has a bit of everything, you will struggle to decide. Had mains of gammon and a pulled pork dish, both came on the biggest plates I have ever seen and were really nice. The dessert menu sounded good too but... More
