First visit for breakfast

Called in Sunday morning for breakfast. Staff were very welcoming and pleasant and although we had a long wait for our full English it was well worth it. Latte was more than I would usually expect to pay but it was very nice and did come with a delicious small piece of chocolatey ,fudgey cake thing... read more

We were visiting beamish Museum and South Causey was suggested-it's an interesting place. I guess the look is mish-mash of styles and for us it worked. The different sized, shaped and usage tables in the restaurant and the bits and pieces scattered around makes for interested conversation whilst waiting for the food. As it was February the Steak & Kidney... More

My partner and I thought we would try this place out for a meal on an afternoon. We ordered the game burgers with nettle cheese - and it was absolutely foul! The cheese was more of a Brie which had I known I wouldn't have ordered it, and the burger tasted horrible. My partner couldn't eat it and so was... More

Been here on many occasions as it really is a lovely place to eat and drink. The staff are superb - clean & tidy, polite and very chatty. The meals are superb, great quality, great value and the menu offers food for all ages. On a nice day, you can also take your meals / drinks out into the grassed... More

Chose fajitas. Big mistake. Terrible. More like chicken casserole with a bit of cheese. Extremely disappointed. Not a great deal of choice on menu to be honest.

We booked in to room 26 valley view, room excellent . We had book a table for about 20:30 ish we arrived at 20:50 and was told we had less than five minutes to order. I ordered Thai red curry and my other half ordered fajitas. When it the food came the fajitas were on a sizzling plate but looking... More

Went for valentines meal. Decided to stick to there normal menu. We both had burgers served with onion rings salsa coleslaw And fries or chunky chips and a bowl of salad! Large portion so couldn't finish it but enjoyed every mouthful! Service was excellent and I would love to go back again! Good value for money too. 😄

This place had been recommended for Sunday lunch - on arrival you have the choice of carvery or restaurant and we went for carvery. We were led through to a large convivial hall full of families enjoying the most astounding plates of food and a truly impressive array of 4 meats and all the trimmings. The serving system is quick... More
