Popped in tonight after the cinema. Really friendly staff, lovely decor and atmosphere. The food was really lovely, although the starter was a little small - I was very hungry. The main was great - perfectly cooked lamb and the sauce was yum! Steak was superbly cooked. Pud - I had the creme brulee with gorgeous little shortcake bikkies. Hubby... More

Myself and my new wife were recently on a mini-moon in Malton and we happened on the New Malton. What a great find really great food and the service was brilliant. My wife said it was one the best veggie meals she had ever had. It was so good we ate there two days running, and it was just as... More

We came upon this restaurant whilst wondering around, and what a pleasant find. We loved it so much, we went back the following day and it was just as busy. We couldn't believe on a Monday night all the tables were nearly full, we got the last one. And from the first mouthful we understood why. The food is full... More

with all the good eateries we have in rude all we did end up going back here again. The staff were great and able to deal with two prams very efficiently and effectively. I would recommend reserving tables, I think couple of people were turned away whilst we were there. As pub grub goes it was good. Tasty and fresh.... More

The New Malton doesn't quite know whether it wants to be a pub or a restaurant. You can't just go in for a drink because all the tables are reserved for diners and there is no dedicated drinking area. This is a shame because there is a choice of three unusual cask ales to try, but obviously there is more... More

Lovely Bistro pub on the square in Malton, with parking outside. Various real ales expertly kept. Good wine list. The menu is full of interesting dishes and everything was attractively served and piping hot. There was a very good cheeseboard and local and seasonal ingredients appear to feature prominently. I would be surprised if there were many better choices in... More

Despite being very popular and very busy they squeezed us in. Delicious food, good beer and very reasonably priced. The scallops are to die for !

I've been there for a Sunday roast. The menu seems to change daily and it has quite a few options on it including vegetarian dishes. I've tried 3 courses and find them excellent loaded with good ideas. The service was very friendly and helpful. I'd totally recommend them.

Spent a few days in Malton and we took relatives for dinner. The menu was not particularly adventurous, but every dish was delicious and presented well, and for the price it was quite excellent. Despite being busy, service was very good. The wine list offers some very good value.
