Our party of four really enjoyed the food here. Completely satisfied with the quality and the quantity of our meals. Especially tasty is the piri piri chicken and the homemade cheese and onion pie. Yum! Service was good too. Worth a visit.

Visited recently and was very unhappy with builders passing the table we were sat at wearing dirty clothes carrying ladders through the restaurant, perhaps that is why the Brownlow Inn only has a hygiene rating of 3/5 which hasn't changed because of the building work!! Maybe things might improve once the new kitchen has opened. The food was average and... More

If you think that £12.95 is extortionately priced for a bottle of wine then I'm afraid to say that I am completely lost for words........... this could be the very first time this has ever happened to me!! Your review, which is noted to be your first ever review on Trip Advisor, leads me to believe that there is an... More

Thursday night. Packed out. Our last visit about a year ago didn't quite hit the straps. This was excellent. 4 of us and every meal quite superb. Carpetbagger steak (speciality) outstanding. Fish Pie (five fish ingredients) quite the best example of it's kind.

My partners house mate and boyfriend go to the Brownlowe all the time so after hearing such good rave reviews from them we all opted to go have a meal at dinner time. The lunch time menu is really extensive with plenty of options to choose from. It says on there website that prices are £6.95 for all lunchtime meals... More

Absolutely faultless. You pay for what you get and that is fresh traditional food at a fair price. I would definitely recommend.

If you are a fan of pub food, and like an extensive menu to choose from look no further. By far one of the nicest pub meals in the area. The skewers are a treat - especially piriri and the steaks delicious. We cannot fault the food or service. It should be said, a little more could be done to... More

If good quality, home cooked food is what you are after then the brownlow is the place to go. Steaks are cooked to perfection and the menu has something for everyone with a good selection on the specials board. Excellent staff with a friendly but professional attitude. All tables are well looked after from the moment you arrive to the... More

By far the best restaurant in Cheshire. Staff are so friendly and consistent, steaks are a must have when visiting! A very popular pub, would advise booking. Although they do try their best to accommodate you if you haven't. If you haven't been, you must do. It's a fantastic experience!!

recently visited the Brownlow in Congleton. I ordered the fish and Jan had the chicken. The fish was huge (cod in batter) and you would certainly need to be very hungry to eat all of this huge piece if fish. However, this is quality food, fresh and extremely tasty. Nothing appears too much trouble for the staff and each of... More
