Great beers, warm atmosphere!

Great to see some of my favourite traditional beers on draught here - Joules Pale Ale, Bass, and a great selection of changing guests. I've noticed that Erdinger has recently appeared which is brilliant and caters to a less traditional drinker with its wheaty and european credentials! Lovely snug... read more

Great beer, atmosphere and staff. Been visiting for a number of years now and there aren't many places like this left unfortunately. Decent pub food at a good price also. Highly recommend.

The meals were cheap and cheerful but the 'chips' looked like fish fingers - they were of a similar size and when they were served we thought a mistake had been made with our order. Unfortunately they tasted like fried mashed potatoes and were disappointing and tasteless. The burger was dry and over cooked and could have been improved with... More

Decided to stop off at the Queens Head Pub as we could moor up right outside whilst cruising the Macclesfield Canal. Pub cheery and quite busy for early evening. Opted for their "Specials Board" Lamb Taggine, which came with rice and home-made chunky chips. Good size portion, and tasty, but was more like a "dry" lamb stew than a Taggine.... More

We frequently go to this pub for a lunchtime pint and food. The welcome is always warm and the surroundings simple but what I expect and want from a pub. The food is simple fare reasonably priced. They have some excellent real ales.

This pub continues to enhance its growing local reputation. Yesterday evening, the Queens hosted its annual firework and bonfire event in front of a huge appreciative crowd, and it was especially pleasing to see so many young families there. The pub is in the throws of more building alterations creating much needed additional internal space, new ladies toilets and a... More

Traditional old canalside pub, log fire, pool table, darts, large outdoor seating area with childrens play equipment. Ample free car parking and canal boat mooring. Small but delicious menu, at reasonable prices. Lots of regular evening events, numerous special beers. Good regular crowd, including my other half on a frequent basis!
