We were planning on visiting just after the refurbishment but having read the reviews, decided against it until last night when we decided to give the Justinlees a go. Wish we hadn't bothered. The refurbishment Ember Inns have undertaken is quite nice and there seem to be more tables than previously but not crowded together which is also nice. Went... More

This restaurant was recently purchased by the Ember Inns group and underwent an internal face-lift. While the face-lift is nice - and the staff remain both competent and friendly - the food has been a disaster on the 3 occasions we visited. 1st visit: our Caesar salad consisted of the wrong kind of lettuce (iceberg), some bits of bread and... Visited the Justinlees for a family meal and on entry I found it difficult to notice the refurbishment, on closer inspection I realised it had been decorated and a change in the furniture, neither of which I would consider an improvement. There were seven of us in the party which necessitated putting two tables together, this would have been fine... More

Super food , and nice staff. Every time i go its busy but they always get us in. They could do with an extra coat of paint on exteriors . They have had the same curtains for years. Worth a visit though.

We visited for food after the recent refurbishment, hopeful that the food and atmosphere of what used to be a great local pub would have improved. Unfortunately this wasn't the case. The service at the bar was fine, the pub was empty so there was no queue. We ordered drinks and food. The food arrived promptly but was below average... More
