Good Value

Eaten here twice recently and was quite impressed. Decent pub food at a reasonable price. Pub nicely done out since the refurb however it's a shame they didn't do anything heating the place up a bit. It is pretty empty mid week but weekends may be busier which will help to heat the place up and... read more

Worst steak in my life. Was tough and tasteless. Was clearly frozen. My friends had some chicken dish and it was also bland. Never again

I think that we locals are part of some bizarre experiment to test how much tolerance exists to an obviously badly run pub. Final straw at quiz night- sub zero temperatures in the bar, had to put coat on, the log fire which the pub advertises, is never lit, apparently chimney issue- for months come on Ember Inns management get... Staff seem to be non existent. When one finally decided to serve us she was very abrupt to the point of being ignorant. Never in all my years have I seen such an attitude from a public house. I asked to speak to the manager but was told he was busy. We were going to eat but we passed some... More

Went here with the family for Christmas dinner. The meals had to be pre-ordered via the booking form and was just as we asked for. The food was fresh and hot, except of course for the salad parts. Everyone enjoyed the food even the 2 children we had with us. A good interval was given before each course was served... More

Rude staff are running this place into the ground!! Place is freezing, food is terrible and staff simply don't care. They even shut the place up early when they can't be bothered working so you can even rely on this place being open for a drink. Place needs sold to new owners and complete overhaul off the staff.

Absolutely freezing in there last night. Have emailed Ember Inns before about this and have emailed them again today. So many diners sitting with coats on for Christmas Nights out, such a shame. Reply from manager when I complained was that the heating was broken and would not be fixed that night. Reading previous reviews though it seems it's been... More

Really cold. Asked the waiter about the heating - answer was "it's cold everywhere"! Food took ages. Dirty sauce bottles.

What a way to ruin a great pub. A great shame. So much potential if it's run the way it should be. Hopefully ember inns realise what a big mistake they have made
