Nice wee spot for lunch. Nice atmosphere with plenty of seating. Food and prices reasonable. Located on the round-about south of Dalkeith with parking facilities.

Went in after the refurbishment, ordered food and drinks. Staff were utterly unhelpful, seemed more interested in talking to themselves than helping and that included the manager. We asked for more bread for our starter, only to have them dump it on the table and tell us to pay at the bar for it. Absolutely would not recommend to anyone.

Desperately wanted to try Justinlees since refurbishment, expecting not only decor to be upgraded. Ordered from lunch deal menu not expecting anything grand, but was sorely disappointed. Salad was brown on edges and dressing seemed off. Chargrilled chicken was black all over, dry, and chewy. Chips half cooked. Garden peas seemed to have been cooked a few days ago. Sad... More

went for a birthday meal with my family. My wife and I ordered a sirloin steak and a surf & turf, her's well done and mine medium rare. When the meals arrived everything on the plate was cold and my wife's steak was very red. These were taken away to be be replaced, but both returned inedible. No moisture left... More

Food is better since the refurb, we've been a number of times since and the new menu is a big improvement. This is a pub though, not a restaurant, and it serves a great selection of beers at reasonable prices. Special mention for Louise who seems to be on top of everything while always having time to stop and make... More

After its recent refurbishment, the Justinlees Inn feels more welcoming, more cosy - more like.a pub than a place just to buy a drink. Good choice of guest ales, which are very welcome.

Ordered from the day menu any 2 courses for a set price. This however does not include a starter followed by a sweet(computer can't cope with this). You can do starter and main or main with sweet but no where on the menu is that stated. It took half an hour for the food to arrive. Wrong sauce for the... More

First impression was very nice then the meal a total let down. I had the mussels as a starter and no fault of the chef they were TINY , a definite fault of the chef was that I was served a mussel that was CLOSED!!!!!!!!!! Now the mains my wife got the steak pie which consisted of stew with puff... More

We used to eat here regularly before the renovation and were looking forward to the new menu. We knew it wouldn't be as good value as before( used to be 2 meals for £10 on certain dishes) but we're not concerned by this! We ordered the fish and chips. After quite a lengthy wait they arrived, and looked a good... More
