Poached, squeezed, pressed, steamed, grilled, wilted, roasted, battered and seared. Our utterly delicious food, from first thing in the morning to last thing at night, will melt on your tongue and always leave you wanting more. Our menus comprise contemporary interpretations of classic British dishes. Our Lunch and Dinner menus also feature daily Best of British specials. It almost goes without saying that we use fresh, local, seasonal produce as the norm.Breakfast offers you a range of cold dishes and freshly baked pastries from the larder. As well as a fully cooked Scottish breakfast, you can order anything from delicate smoked Scottish Haddock to meltingly beautiful Eggs Florentine. Enjoyed our meal - very reasonable (£80 for four) , Hotel is nice as is the beer garden. The resturant area was clean , however tired. Great selection on menu - food was decent.

This is one of two places in town, the other being the very popular Anderson's. The menu offered more than adequate choices, with some vegetarian options. The staff were cordial enough but things could have used some work on organization. The room is comfortable and the atmosphere relaxing.

The Boat looks great and has some very nice features - location, decor, uniformed staff, al fresco area - but was a real mixture of experiences over the two visits we made while we were walking the Speyside Way. Our first visit was in the afternoon when we passed the pub on the way to our accommodation and stopped for... More

Went for dinner. Asked if the caesar salad came with chicken, got frowned at by the waitress who said not and I was not offered the option. Had the fusilli with tomato olive and spinach with extra chicken at £5! This proved very poor. 6 olives, spinach practically non existent whole thing swimming in warm passata. My husbands sirloin was... More

The menu offered good choices and on a busy evening, the service was good and friendly, both at the bar and at the table. A reasonable selection of good wines are on offer, if a little pricey.

The Lunch was disappointing and the pints were a bit flat. The place was quite clean. Price of normal lagers were way over the top.

Called in after a run in the steam train and ordered coffees prior to looking at the menu to have a meal slightly later. Service was poor and a latte was served to my daughter with milk that was off. She felt physically sick. My wife sipped the coffee and confirmed it was off to the extent that she couldn't... More

We ate here on the final evening of walking the Speyside Way and the food and service were excellent. However, the price of alcoholic drinks was significantly more expensive than we are used to paying in either Edinburgh or London! Not sure why the establishment chooses to charge so much, but it put a damper on an otherwise enjoyable evening.

Nicely prepared food.Good service but staff were run off their feet. I enjoyed the locally sourced items on the menu such as venison and local black pudding but also vegetables tempura. I enjoyed this variety.

if you are staying in the Boat of Garten, and don't want to cook, the food here is excellent. A good variety on the menu with daily specials. The food portions are good and we ate here twice. ( There is only this restaurant available on Monday and Tuesday as the other in the village is closed). The Ham Hock... More
