Lunch at da Paulino

We had dinner here four times two years ago when we stayed in Pescoconstazo. This time we were staying in Sulmona, but couldn't resist coming twice for lunch. I'm pleased to say that is every bit as good as it was then.We had antipasti of bruschetta ..the version with radicchio and scamorza (a... read more

Great food, lovely location, good service. What more can you want? Well, you can add great value. Authentic Italian, family run. One of the highlights of our holiday in Italy.

My boyfriend and I decided to dine at this restaurant and it was the best choice ever! The woman who welcomed us was very nice and helpful giving indication on the road we wanted to take the day after. We ordered 3 types of pasta all freshly home made. The best one the ravioli with gorgonzola and pear. But also... More

I was in Pescocostanzo for the third time last week and had my third meal at Da Paolino and I echo the other excellent reviews. Food was very good, prices were reasonable (absolutely in line with prices listed at other restaurants in Pescocostanzo). I highly recommend the Pasta Grana Saraceno (which I'm sure I've spelled wrong!) with tomatoes, pistachio and... More

Situated in the center of the tiny village of Pescocostanzo, probably the most charming village in Abruzzo, is an incredible find of a restaurant - Da Paolino. This is hearty mountain food but with a delicate refined touch of imagination. Portions are large so I skipped the antipasto and went with a fresh pasta dish with a bolognese, porcini mushroom... We went on a busy Saturday night but still got great food and service. Our waiter spoke enough English to help us out and we got wonderful pasta including a ravioli with gorgonzola in a Pear Sauce...oh, my! We'll be back here next time

Charming room and charming service. We had lunch, starting with bruschetta; one tomato and the other truffle. First courses of pasta with porcini and polenta with tomato sauce and sausage. When we left towards 2pm there was a queue waiting outside! Those serving were very helpful. Lovely homemade biscuits with dried small grapes were given to us from an attractive... More

Delicious food, Great service which was knowledgeable and helpful, excellent wine list. the standout items were a chestnut pasta and slow cooked rabbit, both of which were fabulous and memorable, and a pork stinko which was beautifully cooked. Lovely greens as accompaniment. Also recall ravioli with pear and gorgonzola which we enjoyed.Great atmosphere and liked it so much that returned... More

Pure luck took us to the town of Pescocostanzo, and we are so glad we made the decision to come back for lunch. The town is quite unique and seems way off the mainstream tourist trail. We arrived at the restaurant at around 1pm on a sunday. Fortunately for us they had just one table for two left. There are... More

By chance we chose to eat here as we were sheltering from an unexpected downpour. What Luck! Delightful waitress who was very keen to practice speaking English, served us with charm and care. The food was delicious Ravioli with goats cheese and a pear sauce truly memorable. The restaurant was cosy with a friendly ambience. Service was quite quick, and... More
