“Peyia Tavern” is a family restaurant and is highly recommended, here you will have the opportunity to sample the “Traditional Special Meat Meze”, great dish for the meat lovers. The meat is cooked in the traditional Cypriot way (on the charcoal). The Special Meze is served one dish at a time by the Taverna staff which are family members. Be careful not to over face yourself with the bread, salad, dips and pourgouri (traditional couscous) which is served as an appetiser prior to the meat dishes. Also the taverna serves traditional dishes like "Halloumi", "Sieftalia" and "Stifado".

Huge meze

We visited on a cold, wet evening in February. The first day we looked in the window, only one table was taken so we went elsewhere as it appeared to be lacking atmosphere. The second attempt a couple of days later produced a nearly full restaurant. The fire was blazing which was needed. We... read more

Great traditonal cusine and excellent value. My wife, toddler and I went for dinner on a Sunday evening at about 19:00- don't be put off if it looks quiet (it was low season) as the service and food was truly excellent and we were obviously early. We opted for the meze so as to experience everything on offer and it... More

No menu, just the proprietor to tell you what is on the menu that evening. Starting with the usual dips, then BBQ meat of your choice. Portions are more than adequate. We enjoyed our meals but felt the meat just plain grilled needed a little something extra. All served with couscous and fries. Did not have space for puddings! Would... More

I visit the Peyia tavern each time I come to Cyprus. The food is always good and the portion sizes would satisfied those with the largest appetite.

The food here is good plain taverna fare. Good ingredients, basically cooked and plenty of them. No menu as such, the options are recited by the waiter, but the meze is a real challenge volume wise. We ate here repeatedly during our honeymoon, and especially enjoyed the 'sexy wine' (the house white) which was the best we had in our... More

Been here before but with friends staying with us we tried it again and hoped it was as good as previously. Should have known it's still great. Same classic lack of written menu on the tables, just the list of options given to you. All cooked to perfection and all four of us chose different things. All excellent and accompanied... More

Fabulous food at fantastic prices. You don't get a menu as your waiter is your menu!! A basic menu of pork chops, lamb chops, meze, and lots of other Cypriot dishes. We arrived with no reservation , as it was the 1st night of our holiday. He just fit us in and plenty of people after us were turned away.... More

Food is simple main course cooked to order fresh, we had the meze.. Be prepared a lot of food for €15 each ,we had real trouble finishing it off but the quality is very good and cooked and served by a lovely Cypriot family .. Very good atmosphere and child friendly it's a must coming to Paphos .

Atmosphere and service very good. Had dips etc and Sheftalia. The portions were huge and very tasty. On the hill in Peyia village just before the Mill.
