Description: “Peyia Tavern” is a family restaurant and is highly recommended, here you will have the opportunity to sample the “Traditional Special Meat Meze”, great dish for the meat lovers. The meat is cooked in the traditional Cypriot way (on the charcoal). The Special Meze is served one dish at a time by the Taverna staff which are family members. Be careful not to over face yourself with the bread, salad, dips and pourgouri (traditional couscous) which is served as an appetiser prior to the meat dishes. Also the taverna serves traditional dishes like "Halloumi", "Sieftalia" and "Stifado".

It was an engaging day yesterday. Much of it spent in the company of friends, engaged in lively discussion across a wide range of matters. Our evening meal was also pleasing. It is rare for us to leave the plains of Paphos and we set off up the mountain to join friends for a taverna dinner and another lively discussion... More

Read other trip advisor reviews so had to give it a bash. About 5 mins from coral bay and not much to look at from the outside. Limited menu but the star of the show is the meze at 15 euros each. Huge amount of food which starts with a salad with the best Couscous I have ever had with... More

I've been back to to paphos many times over the last 14 years and pegeia tavern is always good. A really good meze, good Cypriot food and good service/atmosphere. The chicken is a bit dry (it is in most mezes if that's a generalisation but that's my experience) I would always bother to visit pegeia tavern. I actually think after... More

This family run Cypriot restaurant is a delight. The surroundings are very basic but the cooking is wonderful. There is no menu as such. You are given a choice of meats or halloumi (no fish) firstly you are served a delicious Greek salad with bread, couscous and dips then comes the meat with beautiful home cooked chips followed by fresh... My family I went here following reviews on Trip Advisor although we drove past it twice! It was quite daunting not being given a menu with prices and simply being told what was available but also quite liberating. My husband and I both had the meze and my son had the pork chop. The meze portions are huge and we... More

This is a non commercial typical cypriot taverna. The food is excellent and he does the best halloumi. Have the "sexy" wine and look to share meals as they are massive!!

Food is gorgeous. Local food and wine of an excellent quality. Staff very friendly and helpful. You may need to make a reservation to avoid disappointment. Go to the Peyia Tavern each time we visit Cyprus. Thank you.

Been coming to this restaurant for a number of years now and have never had a bad experience. It is very basic in comparison with other restaurants but is traditional. The menu never seems to change but the food you get is very good and is great value for money. The owner and his son are very friendly and there... More

Worth a visit even if you aren't staying in the village which is only 2Km from Coral Bay. There are no menus in the restaurant the only one is outside, the waiter is the menu. It is a family run establishment with father and son serving the food. There is not a lot of choice, but what there is, is... More
