“Peyia Tavern” is a family restaurant and is highly recommended, here you will have the opportunity to sample the “Traditional Special Meat Meze”, great dish for the meat lovers. The meat is cooked in the traditional Cypriot way (on the charcoal). The Special Meze is served one dish at a time by the Taverna staff which are family members. Be careful not to over face yourself with the bread, salad, dips and pourgouri (traditional couscous) which is served as an appetiser prior to the meat dishes. Also the taverna serves traditional dishes like "Halloumi", "Sieftalia" and "Stifado".

Very pleasant

This was the first restaurant in Peyia we tried. We all ordered the stifado as we had heard it was good here. Many side dishes were also brought out - village salad, dips, couscous and chips. I thought this was very generous until I saw the bill ... ! Consequently, it was rather more than the 5... read more

We had the mezze here and the food was really good. Plenty of it and very tender. The best grilled halloumi as well. Really friendly place.

We have visited Peyia Tavern during the last 22 years and still love going there. The food is delicious and Michalis, Stavroulla, Angelos and Achilleas are always very friendly. A gem.

The food was good, generous portions but not exceptional. Personally for the exa distance, I would still go to savaas grill.

Charming host listed the limited menu and much relief when we came to the vegetarian mixed main - sublime halloumi, tsatziki, tahini, chips, bulghar wheat dish - all delicious. Sliced bread seemed out of place. Good atmosphere and clearly very popular. Booking advised even on Monday night

Ate in this village tavern a number of times during a family holiday. If your looking for traditional local dishes then this taverna is just the place. The mezze is amazing and could feed an army, the local wines are great too. The staff are so welcoming and friendly, we will defo be back.

Good family run restaurant, good service and great food, we had the Meze and it was more than we could eat! Two families travelling together and we were seated together. Nice enough, but not somewhere special enough to make a regular visit too.

Lovely taverna in Peyia with a human menu. When we sat down the waiter said good evening I am the menu ,which made us smile and the told us all the food we could have. The food was amazing typical Cypriot fare. If your looking for gourmet food don't go to this taverna but if your looking for good fresh... More

The restaurant's atmosphere is welcoming as you can expect from any family-run restaurant. The outside tables provide a nice view of the evening sunset, but you are next to the main road in Peyia, so not a perfect setting. We opted for the meze (€15 per person), and the food was okay. Not the best Cypriot meze we've had. The... More
