“Peyia Tavern” is a family restaurant and is highly recommended, here you will have the opportunity to sample the “Traditional Special Meat Meze”, great dish for the meat lovers. The meat is cooked in the traditional Cypriot way (on the charcoal). The Special Meze is served one dish at a time by the Taverna staff which are family members. Be careful not to over face yourself with the bread, salad, dips and pourgouri (traditional couscous) which is served as an appetiser prior to the meat dishes. Also the taverna serves traditional dishes like "Halloumi", "Sieftalia" and "Stifado".

Simple but fantastic

If you want an authentic meze you won't find any better than this . Don't eat too much during the day as it keeps coming , house wine very palatable . Cheap as chips , we always have at least one visit every time we are in paphos . Tastiest chicken ever .

First visited here in September 09, again in Jun 11 and liked the tavern so much I booked a table then to celebrate my 50th birthday in September 11. If you like traditional Greek food, especially meat, this is the place to go. Michael the owner is just a great guy, we had a table for 10 on my 50th birthday,... More

We've travelled to the Peyia Region for many years and have chalked up a number of restaurants we like over this time. This is one of them. As others have said, this is a simple taverna in the traditional style. There is no menu - "I am the menu" the friendly waiter beams at you, and then rattles off all... More

We have stayed at villa in coral bay, however all the restaurants on the high street of coral bay are bad, with poor service and horrible food. It was definetly worth traviling to the neighbour village Peyia for dinner. Peyia Tavern has great food and service. The food is simple : just different types of grilled meat and grilled hallumi... Amidst all of the modern Mediterranean offerings and pub fair, this place is a little time capsule. It's like stepping back in time to the way taverna were. The menu is in the heads of the waiting staff and the easiest choice to make is the meza. It comes at you fast - there is little time between courses. It's... More

From entering the taverna to leaving a couple of hours later we were in a fabulous ding experience. All the dishes were served piping hot and were all beautifully cooked. Service was superb and would have gladly pad more for a great meal. Will return soon. Thanks Michael.

We went to the Peyia Tavern by chance. Very tasty dips and meat at reasonable price. Kind service too. Open off season and on a Sunday!

We asked for the menu and the owner tapped his head and said " It is in here. We ordered Mezze as we like it and gives us a yardstick for other restaurants.I think for 20 euros including beer (£15- Dollars 22 )it would be hard to be at all critical..We have been many times and always enjoy the food.

We visited on a cold, wet evening in February. The first day we looked in the window, only one table was taken so we went elsewhere as it appeared to be lacking atmosphere. The second attempt a couple of days later produced a nearly full restaurant. The fire was blazing which was needed. We opted for the mere at a... More
