Description: “Peyia Tavern” is a family restaurant and is highly recommended, here you will have the opportunity to sample the “Traditional Special Meat Meze”, great dish for the meat lovers. The meat is cooked in the traditional Cypriot way (on the charcoal). The Special Meze is served one dish at a time by the Taverna staff which are family members. Be careful not to over face yourself with the bread, salad, dips and pourgouri (traditional couscous) which is served as an appetiser prior to the meat dishes. Also the taverna serves traditional dishes like "Halloumi", "Sieftalia" and "Stifado".

This is our favorite restaurant in Cyprus for a traditional meat meze. Great food, great service and amazing value at 15 euros. The local wine is about 8 euros for a carafe of red or white. Both are excellent. Both the owner and his son(s) are very friendly and happy to chat when they are not too busy.

Have eaten here twice in the last week once with the meze which was fabulous and once where we chose our dishes. Lovely local wine and food service. Salad was lovely. Will definitely return a very nice family run local taverna

We went back after a while for dinner and ordered very simple food: salad, some dips, chicken grilled and liver lamb. It is nice to see how even a very simple and basic dish like a Cypriot salad could be done so well if compared with many others taverns. The chicken was very well done and my liver lamb was... More

I am very upset to say that having been to this restaurant before we were very disappointed on this occasion. We just ordered the lamb chops as before, but on this occasion they only served 2 each a bit mean as we had been given 4 each previously and in all honesty they were so fatty we couldn't eat them.... No menu, no prices, just simple Cypriot food cooked well and served quickly. Trust the owner and you will eat authentic food at a good price

The menu is on the wall as you walk in, there were no menu's on the table but the waiting staff will talk you through it anyway. Visited the Peyia Tavern twice, would have been more if stayed longer. As a couple on the first visit we didn't want the full Meze, so ordered dolmades and dips for starters and... More

We had dinner here on our first night in Peyia and we loved it! Great staff and service. The waiters don't give you menus but reel it off to you. We had a lovely meal here, try the bbq lamb chops, they are so good!

There's no denying that the food in the Peyia Tavern (or Mike's as some people call it) is consistently good but it's not spectacular. They get busy and as I've read in another review, the outdoor seating area is very small, so booking is a good idea if you want one of those tables next to the busy road. The... More
