Large family friendly Piri Piri Chicken restaurant

Went here partly based on Tripadvisor recommendations. Group of 4 arriving at 08.00pm on a Thursday. By 9.00pm restaurant was heaving. Menu is basic but tasty. We shared garlic prawn starters and then Piri Piri chicken. Beer and local wine, plus tomato salad and the usual sardine paste, anchovies... read more

9 of us visited this restaurant based on trip advisor reviews. However, I wasn't at all keen. It felt like a fast food experience as opposed to a dining experience. The piri piri chicken was swimming in fat when it arrived on the silver tray and wasn't particularly tasty. A few had the kebabs and said they were tasty. I... More

Had been recommended to us, we weren't disappointed, simple menu would recommend a few starters to share then chicken piri piri, comes on one plate so you can all tuck in. Not too spicy, very reasonable price and decent Portuguese wine.

This restaurant had a re-fit last year and is now much brighter and lighter, the seating is better arranged , the menu offers a good choice and as always the staff and service are very good.

Visited the restaurant twice: once for an evening meal and once for lunch. On both occasions the food and service were excellent. Second visit turned out special, as sitting at the table next to us were 4 Portugese gentlemen, one of whom asked the waiter for a guitar, and then proceeded to play and sign. They were brilliant; the customers... More

We haven't been for a few weeks now as have had a few disappointing experiences. The last few times the salad and Chicken has had a taint of Fish. So far it's the best Chicken place we've tried in Guia though.

Just returned from Guia for the 8th year on the trot and as usual the food here was plentifull and tastey. The fizzy wine is nice and the overall service was excellent. Still a good choice of food and desserts. This is a low budget restaurant with 5 star standards do not be put off by some of the negative... More

although it's a very basic restaurant and menu is basic too, it was tasty and good portion of meat, I had lamb chops and they served about 5/6 of them with rice and salad, cooked very well. The Peri peri chicken wAs very well cooked, not too spicy as some are, Down side is no kids menu but good value... More

Eating chicken period period while being given watched by a 6 foot chicken is unnerving. The food's ok. The couvert big (they bring it without being asked). More bustling cafe than fine dining.

This was the first "Pir Pir chicken" restaurant we tired in Guia which is the self proclaimed "capital of Pir Pir chicken". we weren't sure where to go but when we saw the dancing chicken on the street outside decided to have a look. The restaurant was huge and full of a mix of locals and tourists. The food was... More
