I know that a restaurant review is very personal, but we have eaten here often, for the last 3 years on our Crete trips, and the service has never been other than first class, the food excellent...freshly cooked and always tasty. If you don't want chips with a grill or fried fish dish, ask for rice or a salad, they... More

Lovely food, really good quality and friendly staff. Not huge portions but more than enough and meant we could have starters too! Recommend the fried courgettes, lovely thick strips and not covered in batter. I had a tasty lamb cooked in paper ie lamb, potatoes and peas cooked on a foil parcel; very tender lamb. Boyfriend ate 'roast' beef with... More

A very nice Taverna at the end of the village heading towards Kalives. You will find some different dishes here and also the more well known ones. The food was really good, very tasty and plenty of it, as is the case in most tavernas. We started with 2 different types of prawn starters, then a pork chop, and a... More

Returned this year to find the food still beautiful, albeit the service not quite as friendly. The spicy twist on some of the favourites like sagnaki prawns is most welcome to a spice lover visiting Greece! Beautiful views and great food selection, the carpaccio was brilliant and bream delicious. A must visit.

We have had the pleasure of dining at Aeraki many times over the last two years and it is exceptional - excellent food and warm and friendly hospitality - one of my favourite places on the island - Yorgos is a lovely guy with a big heart and has supported the charity my wife and I run by welcoming our... I have eaten here on several occasions and have never been disappointed. Recently ate here with a large group of friends, some of whom were visiting from the UK. Even though the taverna was busy, there were no delays on the service. The staff were attentive and couldn't do enough for us. I had the fresh sea bass, which was... More

Excellent food and service, visited last year and several times this year. The Greek salad and the pasta dishes are to die for.

This taverna is a step up on the usual tourist tavernas. It has white linen table cloths, proper service and a varied menu. Menu includes Cretan specialties but also (if you insist) European favorites including steak - which is unusual for Crete. The seafood pasta is excellent, as are salads. The best seats are those on the edge of the... More

We ordered a different kind of salad on each of our 3 visits and found them to be equal to any of the best restaurants in London...at a fraction of the cost. So if you like salad with a difference ( as well as traditional Greek salad of course) try Aeraki.
