Batuva has been there for a while and it is nice to see that families still keep coming and enjoying its cozy atmosphere and excellent steaks. "Grelhados Batuva", as the name gives already a hint, is a place to eat meat. They have fish, pasta and many other dishes, but it is famous for its meat and "Pelotenses" go there... More

The good taste for decoration makes for a nice contrast between the menu and the gaucho-style atmosphere. The salads are out of this world (salada Batuva, for instance), the service is just perfect. They should work on their dessert menu.

The restaurant has a rough decoration that contrasts with the fine food and wine. It is a cozy lovely place, with a touch of countryside home. I started with a salad which name I don't remember. It was good, but excessively large. We were four at table and we couldn't finish it. Then we ordered the main dishes. We did... More

I went there twice and that's enough for a lifetime. The place is nice and cozy, I'll give them that. And the meat is ok. But first, Chef, why is everything so salty? First the Batata Rochefort, then the massa Dom Fernando, too much salt. And second, drop the attitude people, it's Pelotas, not Paris or Manhattan. So try the... More

Batuva is one of the few restaurants in town that has a decent and consistent service. It specializes in Uruguayan style grill - parrilla. The menu includes more traditional grilled meat (picanha, entrecot, filet) and the house specialties where meat is served in sauce. The filet in cream sauce is the one to order. Fish is in the menu as... More
