Simple, fresh, tasty food / friendly service

Out driving on a cool, clear November day and found ourselves in Crookhaven. What a treat to walk into O'Sullivan's and get a good pint, wonderful chowder, and a seat by the fire. A bit later, over delicious sandwiches, we watched Ireland playing an international match and joined the crowd as we cheered them to victory. A warm welcome from... More

Enjoyed salmon sandwiches and fruit crumble in the front of the bar. Good food and a buzzing atmosphere. A scan round the old photos on the bar wall tells you the people of Crookhaven had a tough time in the past. Now it is a place of leisure. I have not tried the alternatives in this little town but it... More

Had the chowder and it was amazing. Also loved the location and will be back in the summer to enjoy the outdoor seating area!

Love everything about this place, should go more often! Their food is great and they are open all year, which is a rarity around this part of the world.

Very friendly staff, comfortable venue, with pleasant views, but above all; extremely tasty food. Chowder was full of chunks of fish and hints of mushroom. Chorizo and kale soup was a lovely surprise. Desserts were excellent - perfect creme brulee and the crumble was just as it should be.

The best thing is it was still open , most places in the area shut, and it was still producing very nice crab scariness and a tasty bowl of soup, not to mention a great pint of stout 3 to choose from

O'Sullivans was recommended to us by the Mizen Information Centre and what a good choice! We enjoyed the local hospitality, excellent food (great portion sizes) and the views of the harbour are just lovely. The owner collects bank notes from around the world and we were happy to oblige with some he didn't have :-)

We visited today for lunch and had the famous open crab sandwich and salad which was very good. We shared the bread and butter pudding and it was delicious. Finished off with an Irish and a Baileys Irish coffee - perfect. A nice cosy atmosphere particularly in a showery day. We will return to try the chowder another day. Would... More
