Traditional greek family food

On a warm Naxos evening, we took a slow drive into the hills behind Naxos town to Melanes to enjoy an evening meal at the family owned and run O Giorgis taverna. Worth the trip up the mountain to this little hidden gem . The service is warm and welcoming. The food is authentic Greek. The rooster and the stuffed meat patty are not to be missed . The mezes are superb . They make their own cheese and all the meat come from their own farms .

Really nice local food and a nice view. This is a good place ifyou are looking for good food for a low price. The restaurant has a cheap disign. There isn't much choice for vegatarians.

Great food, nice people, smooth service. Rooster in tomato sauce and rabbit with the same sauce are unbelievable.
