Local roadside restaurant 10 min from Monte San Savino. Nice food, I especially enjoyed Spinach and Ricotta Ravioli with a cream porcini sauce. Excellent homemade pasta, would have gone for seconds if I could eat any more. Good service, seems like they cater primarily to locals, but ,surprisingly, had menu in English as well. Good value for the money.

Its a local restaurant and not a tourist trap like you will probably find in rome, florence or siena. Food was very good. The spaghetti bolognese was excellent. The meat in slices with rozmarie and olive oil was very good and new for us. In general it is simple but great food. At start service seemed a bit rough as... More

We were staying in Bucine and our host, Alfiero, recommended this place. The drive to Monte San Savino is was as memorable as our meal here. The restaurant seems very local and the visitors seem to be from the neighborhood. Service is good and the servers are kind and very helpful. Our most memorable dish was the "wild boar" -... More

This simple, family run roadside spot is popular with locals as well as visitors. The long tables are filled with extended families and children. The menu is based on homemade pastas, fresh local produce, and fresh and cured meats sourced regionally. The quality of every course was at the top of the scale among our meals in Tuscany. Other places... More

This was our second meal at Osteria del Cacciatore, the last being two years ago, and it was just as memorable as the first dinner. Their homemade pasta is wonderful and their ribs are the tastiest I have ever had. I ordered fried porcini mushrooms as my contorni and when the waitress told me they they had run out of... More

We had lunch here with our friends on a Saturday afternoon recently. It's right on the road outside of Monte San Savino, with parking along the road. This family run osteria has a charming wood fire that is seen through the glass that encloses the kitchen. The menu features good Tuscan cuisine with a variety of pasta and meat dishes,... More

Staying in Monte San Savino, we drove by this place several times going on 73 to and from Siena, Volterra, San Gimignano. Each evening we noticed many people had parked their cars on the road and gone in to eat. Clearly it was a local favorite as singles, couples, and families came in and were known to the wait staff.... More

This is our second trip to Italy and we return to visit Cacciatore and enjoy the wonderful food here. This family owned and run restaurant is always busy on a Saturday night. Our friends made reservations and we were seated immediately. I had the Spinach and Ricotta Ravioli with a cream porcini sauce. My lady had Penne with a creamy... More

This country trattoria is a real gem. The sort of Tuscan tavern you always hope to find when visiting Italy. The food is simple and good with an excellent range of choices. The service is excellent. The owners are welcoming. The atmosphere is just great - on a recent trip to Tuscany, we had lunch there one day, and dinner... More
