Good local cuisine, cooked well

This delightful osteria serves typical Tuscan cuisine, cooked well and served with a sile. There is a large range of primi piati (entrees), mostly pasta but all cooked to perfection. We had tagliatelli with wild boar ragu (sauce) and tagliatelli with creamy truffle sauce, then the tagliata (grilled... read more

Well positioned among the hills in the outskirts of Monte San Savino, lies this genuine tuscan restaurant. The steak ( tagliata ) was awesome, but also the hand made spaghetti ( pici ) were worth the wait. Try also the coconut and hazelnut mousse.

We decided to have dinner at this venue at the end of a day spent at the Rapolano Thermal Baths. The pricing is perfect for what you get. Waiters and personnel kind and quick. Good appetizers with large servings. We didn't like much the pasta with porcini mushrooms though; the tagliatelle were too wide and smooth; therefore unable to properly... More

Local roadside restaurant 10 min from Monte San Savino. Nice food, I especially enjoyed Spinach and Ricotta Ravioli with a cream porcini sauce. Excellent homemade pasta, would have gone for seconds if I could eat any more. Good service, seems like they cater primarily to locals, but ,surprisingly, had menu in English as well. Good value for the money.

Its a local restaurant and not a tourist trap like you will probably find in rome, florence or siena. Food was very good. The spaghetti bolognese was excellent. The meat in slices with rozmarie and olive oil was very good and new for us. In general it is simple but great food. At start service seemed a bit rough as... More

We were staying in Bucine and our host, Alfiero, recommended this place. The drive to Monte San Savino is was as memorable as our meal here. The restaurant seems very local and the visitors seem to be from the neighborhood. Service is good and the servers are kind and very helpful. Our most memorable dish was the "wild boar" -... More

This simple, family run roadside spot is popular with locals as well as visitors. The long tables are filled with extended families and children. The menu is based on homemade pastas, fresh local produce, and fresh and cured meats sourced regionally. The quality of every course was at the top of the scale among our meals in Tuscany. Other places... More

This was our second meal at Osteria del Cacciatore, the last being two years ago, and it was just as memorable as the first dinner. Their homemade pasta is wonderful and their ribs are the tastiest I have ever had. I ordered fried porcini mushrooms as my contorni and when the waitress told me they they had run out of... More

We had lunch here with our friends on a Saturday afternoon recently. It's right on the road outside of Monte San Savino, with parking along the road. This family run osteria has a charming wood fire that is seen through the glass that encloses the kitchen. The menu features good Tuscan cuisine with a variety of pasta and meat dishes,... More
