We were out cruising the countryside, looking for a place to have lunch on a cool windy winters Tasman Bay day and stumbled upon Up The Garden Path. It was very busy when we arrived which we took to be a good sign. We found a table on the verandah and enjoyed pleasant but non intrusive service and excellent food.... More

Stopped here for morning tea and what a great friendly little place. Great coffee and my savoury muffin was one of the best I have had in a long time. Even though we did not have any children with us there is a great outside play area for children and next time we will definitely bring the grandchildren back with... More

Stopped in for lunch. We had the seafood chowder, club sandwiches with fries and coffees. The staff were attentive and the service was fast and friendly. Coffees were great and arrived quickly. The food was fantastic and good value. If anything, portions were larger than we expected! The surroundings were pleasant (even on a miserable day!) with artwork and jewellery... More

I have been regularly going to this cafe now for just over a year after discovering it one Sunday afternoon. My best friend, me and two well behaved mutts wandered down the path and have been hooked ever since! The service, the ambience and the food warm us, the fact they remember us makes us feel ever so slightly special.... More

Fantastic food, friendly staff and good value. This location is quiet and relaxed and also doubles as an art space with art work on the walls to purchase. The garden area looks like it would be lovely to sit in. As with previous places in the Tasman area it was very cold inside. There was an unlit gas fire and... More

Thank you for your kind comments on our food, staff and venue - we greatly appreciate your visiting us, especially during these winter months. It is a bit odd that we did not have the fire on during your visit as usually we do warm the main hall on colder days. I personally am also very thankful for your comments... More

Had lunch at Up the Garden Path on Friday. I am a local but had never made the effort to go before. What a mistake! I am going to become a regular now! Lovely setting and very clean & tidy. Well set out dining area, we sat outside. The service was top notch and the food was delicious. I ordered... More

This is a delightful cafe with seating in the garden, on the deck and indoors too. They are dog friendly and have a terrific kids play area (newly built). The food is delicious and the Carrot Cake is especially good. Tables are not squished close together like so many other places and the staff and nice and friendly.

Get away from the traffic on Motuka;s High Street and relax in this lovely garden setting. Service can be a bit slow during a busy lunchtime so leave time. Short but tasty menu.

Gorgeous food and the presentation of it was very good. Friendly and helpful staff too. The lime tarte was superb as was the quiche and salad that my husband had. I had the deliciuos avocado quesadilla. We're on a bit of a foodie's trip and this was a great find. Well done guys.

I think we arrived here just as they were finishing lunch, which perhaps explains why they weren't particularly hospitable. The food was fairly average. I'd come here for a drink and a browse in the future, but not for food.
