Welcoming & helpful staff, delicious food, good beer, open fire, friendly locals - one to return to. This charming, thatched pub was a surprise treat: Traditional interior with a good atmosphere and marvellous hosts. HUGE fish, fresh in today, with melt in the mouth batter and the best chips I've tasted in a while, served with mushy peas & lemon.... More

On entering, the Inn envelopes you in its warm welcoming atmosphere. On a cold winters day the first thing you see is the log fire to warm your 'cockles'. The next welcome is the aroma of homecooking. It just fires up up the anticipation of a Sunday lunch.....which was not disappointed.....roast beef...roast pork...yorky puds.....a vast selection of fresh vegetables...nut roast... More

I have read reviews of this pub and agree with all the good comments. The setting is just picture postcode perfect. Owners and staff very friendly and the food outstanding. For the review that gave one star because there was no availability is absolutelyv outrageous and shouldn't be allowed. That has nothing to o do with the quality and ambience... More

We go for a meal at The Kings Head 2 or 3 times a year when we visit relatives in the area. We have always have an excellent meal and the service is friendly. I had fish and chips this time and I can honestly say that it was the best I have had for many years, most enjoyable. This... More

Booked lunch for a birthday celebration. Never been before so did not know what to expect. One person in a wheelchair & mine hosts moved tables & chairs to ensure we were all seated comfortably. Varied menu with some very enticing specials such as partridge, venison & poussin. All cooked to order, served to our requirements & was delicious. Mine... More

With friends coming across to see the seals, I needed a nice venue for Sunday Lunch. After a nice warming by the real fire, we went to the restaurant, the starters were excellent we tried the nicely presented pawn cocktail, or tasty garlic mushroom, the main Sunday lunch, most of us tried 3 meats, the highlight was the superb ham,... We enjoyed lunch here after visiting Donna Nook to see the seals. We ate in the bar with a lovely wood fire roaring in the grate and convivial conversation with two locals. The Bateman's ale was lovely, having been kept to a high standard and the home-made steak and ale pie with twice-cooked real chips was a delight, as was... More
