Certificate of Excellence 2014
Cuisines: Spanish
Dining options: Breakfast/Brunch, Reservations, Late Night
Description: This is a superb dining experience on the promenade at Los Alcazare4s, on the Mar Menor in Spain. The food is superb. I have eaten there in july 2011 and july 2010 and both times the friendly and professional staff were wonderful, helpful and very family friendly. There is a hotel attached. The food offered is a wonderful array of meat, fish and spanish dishes. My friends had sweet, and moist bream and bass I had the most unctuous pork knuckle. The desserts were well made, fresh and full of flavour. On Thursdays/Friday there are dances to Spanaish live music where hundreds watch and dance along the prom. I recommend this wonderful establishment.

L'Encarnacion is a really decent alternative to eating on the strip. It is genuinely Spanish and the service is top class. We have eaten there in an evening and also had tapas at lunchtime. Both good experiences. Prices are reasonable and the surroundings are admirable. Well worth a visit fro for or just drinks.

I did a previous review on this based on lunchtime. This time we went in the evening. I don't think they are "trying" with the service, it is just seriously good. They do speak English, despite the fact that it is not the native tongue. If you do the set menu at €25 per head including a decent bottle of... More

We dined here on a Sunday evening, deciding on the set menus which included several choices of delicious starters, more than ample portions of well cooked main dishes , 2 bottles of wine, dessert and coffee. The setting is beautiful, the flamenco an added attraction and it would be difficult to be negative about any aspect of this restaurant. Not... More

Visited L'Encarnation with my family on September 5th 2014. The food and service was outstanding, and we all really enjoyed our visit. I highly reccomend this place to all who are travelling to Los Alcàzarez!

Certainly, the setting of this restaurant is fabulous and it is very enjoyable to eat dinner in such lovely surroundings. However, I felt that the food was vastly overpriced and you are essentially paying for the privilege of enjoying the view while you dine. The vegetarian options were disgracefully few and I was reduced to having pasta with cheese sauce... More

Amazing. Beautiful location interesting venue (was General Franco son's house). We looked out to sea and felt very special. Food was wonderful customer service very good (although staff have very little English but I'm in their country so I didn't expect it). Lunch looked fantastic and tasted it too. Will we go back, yes before we leave for home. Please... More

Went with friends who have been many times and we will definitely be back. Staff were very friendly and helpful but a bit slow as they were packed out. Had the sea-bass in salt which was superb but bear in mind the Spanish generally serve tiny amounts of vegetables so maybe order a side dish if you like your greens!

We visited this restaurant on the 30th August 2014. We are regular visitors to this area and love to eat out. When we arrived we had 3 tables pointed out to us and were told to take our pick! The location is excellent, right next to the water and the building itself is really lovely and traditional. The main issue... More

The location is fabulous and you can hire beds on the beach opposite from the bar. The tapas menu is varied and is hit and miss - for example the octopus is nice but the fried cheese always comes a little bit frozen in the middle.

We had read about this hotel before arriving and had received recommendations too so were keen to experience the food. We booked a few days ahead for a Sunday evening which is when the Flamenco is on and were allocated a fantastic table in prime posiiton. The whole experience at this historic hotle was was lovely, great service, albeit a... More
