I have had numerous meals in this cafe and think they do one of the best jumbo breakfasts going. 5* hygiene/cleanliness rating too! The cafe is set on the grass above the beach and has fantastic sea views all the way to Saltburn. Fantastic food, fantastic staff. Highly recommended.

Poor service.

Mentioned food allergy whilst placing order. Then the person who took my order gave me a meal that I didnt ask for ( this could have had ingredients in it that would have made me very ill).....a gormless look when I mentioned it. Service was slap handed and the area we sat at had a filthy table and... read more

This cafe is lovely, it's directly on the sea front, away from the busy town centre and next to green playing fields. The cafe itself is quite small and it's often difficult to get a seat inside if it's busy. The food is great with the typical breakfasts and toasties you'd expect from a local cafe. It certainly has character,... More

I have been into the Stray cafe many times as it is on my way home.it is Cosy in winter and the food is wonderful. In summer take your meal or Coffee to a table outside and a staff member will bring it out to you.The view from the South Side is stunning, looking across to Huntcliffe I have always... More

Decided to park up outside this cafe & walk to Saltburn. Filled up on a nice milky coffee & a bacon & egg butty. Been a couple of times before. It's often busy but it's worth the wait. Basic seating & conveniences but ignore that because the food & beverages speak for themselves. After the walk we returned to afternoon... More

food is good, it's sometimes difficult to get a seat (which can only be a good sign), service quite slow BUT this is because the food is cooked fresh. Nice icecream and milkshakes for the kids, the only thing I don't particularly like is their hot chocolate, not chocolatey enough.. I buy coffee instead! Nice place, I visit regularly!

This is a lovely little cafe which is nice and handy after a stroll along the beach. There is a good selection of food which is very reasonably priced. The staff are always very pleasant and helpful. There is always bowls of water left out for your dogs which is very nice of the staff to do. The ice cream... More

We often walk along the Stray at Redcar and call in for a snack. The staff are very pleasant and the food homemade. It is always busy, so that is a good recommendation.

This cafe has a great choice of food menu. Food is home made and well cooked at reasonable prices. My wife and I regularly used this after walking the dogs. Ideally situated on the coast road.
