Best brit food

This Inn serves wonderul English dishes (had the best Eaton mess and the very best Yorkshire pudding). And at some evenings there is nice live music set up in an excellent way (loud enough to enjoy it, not so loud you can't have a good conversation).

It's rare to find such a lovely looking pub on the outside where the inside doesn't let it down. The Cott was perfect. Beautiful outside, lovely open fires, really friendly and helpful staff and delicious food. Couldn't fault it.

We ate here on a busy Saturday night, the restaurant was full and busy. I thought the staff a little stretched, for example, our wine did not arrive until after our starters, and this pattern was followed through the meal i.e. the staff weren't really on top of things. We waited a long time to order coffee and pudding. The... More

A friend and I popped in for lunch today and were lucky enough to get a table. The atmosphere was welcoming and warm and the bar staff very friendly. My friend is a vegetarian and was spoilt for choice . We both had the twice baked cheese souffle which was utterly divine! Our food arrived hot, well presented and certainly... More

Four of us went on a Sunday night. The food was much as expected for a pub restaurant - not especially good or bad with the exception of the crab bisque which both of our table who had this as a starter thought was poor and the puddings which appeared to be bought in. The pub is old with a... More

I have eaten here several times now and the food has always been very good. The Sunday lunch that we had was fantastic. It is often very busy (which is always a good sign) so booking a table is advisable.

I knew the Cott Inn pub as a nice place before. This time I have stayed with my wife and a 4 year old and we had a superb Friday evening meal there. Simple, fresh, high quality - and very reasonably priced… Add to this very helpful and friendly staff and a few accordion players who have had a session... More

From the moment we arrived to the restaurant i was confident that this will be amazing. i was truly amazed at the fact that the place has been licensed since 1320AD .... so much history and culture and so many generations had dined in that place. The atmosphere is lovely, it is absolutely gorgeous and traditional. i fell in love.... More

When we arrived it was clear this was a popular place to eat and we were glad we booked a table! It's always a good sign when a pub is turning people away as all the tables are occupied. We ate there on a Sunday and the menu offered just the right amount of choice. The food was gorgeous and... More

As soon as we arrived in the car park, we knew we were in for a treat. It was a weekday lunchtime and the car park was full! This can only mean one thing, that the food must be good. We could only hope that the beautiful thatched exterior had an interior to match. We weren't disappointed. It was traditional... More
