Good pub fod

This is a beautiful old thatched pub serving typical pub meals to a good standard. Service was fairly swift - on a busy Friday night we got through our two courses plus tea/coffee in about an hour. I had booked the Cott Inn for our last night meal before returning home the next morning to the Midlands. This inn was carefully chosen to be the pinnacle of our 3 days in Devon. Was it? Er .. not sure. The ambience, the live music, the staff, all great, no complaints. Service was fairly prompt on a busy evening... More

Fitted us in no problem despite no booking on Good Friday. Delicious food. Probably the best pub lunch I have ever had. Beautiful thatched longhouse. Just 5* in every way.

We were visiting a friend in South Devon and passed The Cott Inn on the way back to her house from an outing. Our friend was familiar with the inn and we decided to go there for dinner the next day. The restaurant is a picture book fantasy for Americans of what a thatched-roofed, old inn should be. We had... More

Delicious food - particularly recommend the brisket burger and the fish and chips. Good wine and local beers.

We called in on the off chance not knowing about the Inn. We were amazed at how busy it was, but time was taken to welcome us and we had not booked for dinner. We got a table in the smaller restaurant which was charming. The food was excellent and the service was very good even though they were full.... More

We tried to get in one night when they were very full. The staff were very helpful and managed to "squeeze" us in before another party. The food was delicious and the staff very friendly. We will definitely go back again when we are in the area but will book next time!

We visited here with friends on a Saturday night. Very busy, thankfully we had booked but didn't hinder the service or the food. All of the staff were very friendly, great menu and specials board to accompany the simple menu. Lovely olde worlde Devon thatched long house, great features and atmosphere and good to see Adam working here. He is... More

They fitted us in... so no complaints. The staff were friendly the food good and great value for money. The place was warm and a very much English atmosphere, a worthwhile visit but try for a not so busy time...

This Inn serves wonderul English dishes (had the best Eaton mess and the very best Yorkshire pudding). And at some evenings there is nice live music set up in an excellent way (loud enough to enjoy it, not so loud you can't have a good conversation).
