Excellent food! Well up there with fine dining's best without the excessive costs. Organised by my son, who had eaten there before, it catered well with 9 of us, all choosing from the regular menu. It seemed popular and we would recommend booking. There was a reasonable choice on all courses and some interesting mixing of flavours, all of which... More

This small but perfectly formed restaurant just keeps getting better. Superb cooking using local ingredients. Starters under £10, mains under £20 ( i suspect this might rise a bit in summer with the use of lobster and crab!) a wine list that is unusual and sensibly priced. I had a beautiful ham hock and pork cheek starter which just melted... More

As locals we enjoyed a family dinner on Saturday 5th April 2014 with our family from Staffordshire to celebrate 50th and 60th birthdays. An exceptional 3 course dinner that was both imaginative and innovative, the food was beautifully presented and the service was both friendly and unobtrusive with the meal flowing with just the right amount of time between courses.... We went here for Mothering Sunday Lunch. They had a special menu for Mother's Day. All 3 courses were divine. I had Pan seared Falmouth scallops - parsnip - Chorizo jam - granny smith apple. Followed by a Pan roasted Hake fillet - Newlyn crab - herb and spring onion crushed potato - sauce grenoble - pea shoots main. With... More

An excellent meal, well presented. A nice cosy intimate feel to the restaurant made our first visit very pleasureable. I've eaten in a few of the "top" starred UK restaurants and this was up there with them and definitely cheaper !! If only it had a view of the sea

My husband and I had dinner at Ben's Cornish Kitchen on Friday 21 March. This was our third visit and each time the dishes on the menu have been different. The service is attentive but unobtrusive and the food delicious and beautifully presented. The star dish for me was the sweet curry dessert which was very creative and unlike any... More

Simple, delightful décor .A seemingly effortless operation which always means masses of hard preparation. Food combinations imaginative and perfectly cooked. Staff well trained and unobtrusive.

My partner and I came for dinner last night at Ben's Cornish Kitchen and were delighted to be met by such welcoming and attentive staff. The food was delicious and beautifully presented and we both felt the food and service was very good value for money. I would highly recommend a visit and cannot wait to come back in the... More

We booked for a March evening and the restaurant was quiet and friendly. Staff are very attentive and helpful (adjustments to dishes for a lactose intolerant member of the party) . The menu here is an ever- changing delight and there were lots of good ideas. When Ben is on a roll you are getting a Michelin Star meal for... More
