We had lovely fresh fish very simply presented and very tasty. Staff were most helpful. We arrived without a reservation but we're given a table indoors. It was great to see Portuguese wines being served here.

Umberto and Lynne are grest hosts. I had a sea bass which had beem caught three hours earlier and was cooked to perfection, served with salad and garlic potatoes. It doesn't get much better than this.

We visited twice during our stay in Ferragudo. If it hadn't been closed on Mondays, we'd probably been there for the third consecutive night. Very friendly atmosphere, personal and warm, with tasty food (the fresh fish being presented at your table), and great service. A family run business, with high ambition and quality standards. Visit when you're here. You'll not... More

We'd always said that one of the nights we'd try A Ria. Tonight we did & we were not disappointed. We ordered sea bass for two people & for a refreshing change the fish was weighed & we were told how much it would cost. We prawns in garlic for starters, which were plump & very tasty. We were asked... More

The restaurant had a wide selection of both food and wine to cater for all tastes. I opted for salmon and my other half had steak with prawns. Both were delicious. We were recommended a Portuguese wine, which was very good. The service was friendly and made us feel very welcome. The meal was also topped off with a local... More

We were not only advised of the price of the... More

My family visited A Ria, and we were not disapointed. They serve good food, some better than others. My clams and grilled bachalao were as I prefere them; tasty and fresh. The clams and prawns received good reviews around the table, but the seafood penne was a disspointment. Good service but they fortgot my red vine for the cod. One... More

Doesn't look fancy from the outside, but once you go in and sit down you're in for a very special treat. First, you're received very warmly and start to feel he. Then comes out the professional advice. You choose your (fresh) fish and a couple of minutes later you'll be told how much it will cost (based on its weight).... More
