Description: A Ria is situated in Ferragudo along the quay side before the local market...
A Ria is situated in Ferragudo along the quay side before the local market off the main square. Ferraguo is one of the most picturesque fishing villages in Portugal. A Ria is a small restaurant which compliment Ferragudo specializing in local Algarvean cuisine such as Cataplana & Monk fish rice, cuttlefish and clams is the specialty of the house. Your visit to Ferragudo and A Ria would not be complete with out tasting fresh fish grilled across the road, served with potatoes and salad but will be happy to provide home made chips and fresh vegetable if preferred. The menu caters for everyone with some excellent steak options and a small children's menu. A Ria prepares all the dishes at the time of order ensuring each dish is fresh NB.this can cause some delays in the height of the summer when the restaurant is full, you can take this time to relax and enjoy a drink or a bottle of good quality Portuguese wine. WiFi is now available. A Ria is currently closed on Mondays. To guarantee your table reservations are excepted.

Went there twice this holiday, the quality of the food was excellent both times. The fish was superbly cooked on the barbecue both times. The quality of the service and the rest of the food was also very good. Our 3 year old grandson was also well looked after, we will be back next year

Ferragudo is a lovely village of narrow streets and fishermens cottages (now probably too expensive for the locals!) and where, apparently, the "Special One" was born - by that I mean Mourinio the Chelsea AFC manager! In the main square there are several cafes and restaurants to chose from and on our visit we chose to sit outside in the... More

A Ria lived up to reviews for us in our recent visit. We were keen to try some fresh fish and the waiter brought the days catch to our table and explained the options (we are not experienced fish eaters). We opted for a sea bream, which was cooked on their bbq. Other nice details were the extras that came... More

My girlfriend and I noticed A Ria when it was closed between services but after reading the menu decided we would come back specifically to eat there. We were not disappointed! Service was excellent. Lynne, Humberto and the other waiter who's name we didn't catch were friendly, knowledgable and clearly passionate about the food. We shared the Octopus salad to... More

If you like fresh fish this is the place to go, but because it is a small family restaurant it is best to book in advance. We ate here twice last week and on both occasions we had a fantastic meal, and could not fault anything. The food was superb and such friendly service. It is a pity that the... More

We visited A Ria last year and we where delighted to see that restaurant still thriving with same owners who work very hard but always keep a smile on their face. The waiter who brought out the fish to chose from ( sorry I am not sure of your name) was very proud of showing us the catch of the... More

We visited on the 10th sept. The place always seems to be busy every time we pass so we decided to try it. We had the prawns and battered sardines for starters and both were delicious! We also had mains and again the flavours were amazing . We couldn't get over the value also. 2 starters, 2 mains, 1/2 bottle... More
