Went to the Black Horse for lunch on Sunday. The staff clearly were not bothered about the customers as we were left waiting to sit in the restaurant for 10 mins whilst they were just wandering around. When we ordered the food took ages to come even though they were fairly basic sandwiches. Also other customers, who were waiting for... More

4 of us ate here on a Sunday night. My friends all had steak and ale pie with hand cut chips, which they enjoyed, though it was salty and the filling was overdone so not so moist. I ordered the burger and chips. Expecting their hand cut chips instead I got frozen french fries. I asked the waiter if these... More

Visited the area , Saturday afternoon, with hubby, he had a pint of 'black sheep' I had diet coke. Coke was ok, but hubby said the black sheep real ale was an excellent drink. The staff were friendly. So all in all a welcome break too our walk

Called in here for a pint whilst walking the Dalesway. Good selection of real ales and received a warm and friendly reception. Didn't eat here but would definitely recommend calling in for a drink.

Taken here by a friend for lunch for my birthday....staff were very friendly and welcomng, I was able to take my dog (who was treated very well despite being badly behaved!) and they were really dog friendly. Ordered from main menu and food was lovely, very well cooked and presented. Dessert was glorious. Nice quaint pub in a lovely village.

Booth my wife and i chose this pub because we were sraying in a cotfage closeby. I was quietly impressed with the black sheep bitter which went down well. My wife had duck and chicken springs rolls which were good. I had a forkful merely for reporting purposes. We both chose the pork which was very good. A little disappointed... More

We ate in the Black Horse back in April and were terribly disappointed. We both ordered the duo of pork which comprised very small portions. We felt we had been ripped off, because the only accompaniment was again, a small portion of mashed potatoes and a few root vegetables. When the latter arrived, definitely not enough for two persons, we... More

I can understand why this restaurant is ranked 12 of 12. We are here on Saturday evening, 3rd May. We had tried to get into the Devonshire Arms hotel, but that was fully booked. Then tried the Grassington, which was packed. Then to the Black Horse Hotel: Only two other tables with diners perhaps should have been a warning. I... More

Called in the black horse after noticing they did a carvery, unfortunately the menus were swiped from under our noses which meant my brother who didn't want carvery was told in no uncertain terms that 'he could have a sandwich'. Ordering food was rather baffling as the bartender didn't seem to have a clue what he was doing having to... More

Good quality meat, wide selection of vegetables cooked just right and all kept hot without going soggy, frequent replenishment of Yorkshire puddings, lovely, thick tasty gravy, delicious selection of puddings - how could you possibly go wrong choosing to eat here???
