Lovely staff, very warm and welcoming on a freezing day. Traditional pub setting with a decent selection of beers and a lovely log fire! Food was ok with lots to choose from at reasonable prices.

We stayed here for two nights for the Christmas Market. The rooms are quite small which we expected in such an old character Inn. There was a nice touch of Christmas Crackers and sweets left in the room for guests to enjoy. Unfortunately the room was quite cold on our first night, and so was the shower. The following day... 8 of us, 6 adults and 2 kids, had a great family sunday lunch last week. My son had been given a voucher as a present and as their younger son had been ill on and off all year he decided to use it for food rather than an overnight stay. Traffic from Leeds to Grassington was easier than expected,... More

Tried to have my usual Sunday carvery, which I can highly recommend, but, what do you know so many wretched visitors had been that there was none left for me, and I had to make do with a delicious ham sandwich with lovely, tasty ham in a very nice seeded roll and accompanied by salad and freshly made, definitely not... Staff at the hotel were very welcoming. Room was nice. Clean and warm. We took our dog with us and he was also welcomed and everyone made a fuss of him. We had an excellent evening meal and breakfast was lovely too. Everything was well organised. Will return and thank you.

A nice, tidy pub with a modest menu but still offering reasonable choice. Well-presented food with pleasant, efficient staff.

Chose to eat here during 1940s festival , ordered 3 course carvery, 1st course sauce was cold, and soup was like tasteless watery piss, 2nd course meat and roast vegetables great the rest of the veg was disgusting, 3rd course a choice of either chunky tarty apple crumble or undercooked blackcurrant sponge both highly disgusting. The service left a lot... More

I'm so sorry you had a bad experience, and it was clearly our fault. It's rare with our carvery, but you have to take it 'on the chin' when it's deserved. I;d love to put it right for you, but your comment makes it clear that's not going to happen. Sorry, again. John Wain More

Having just arrived in Grassington we were looking for a good pint and some dinner. The promise of a good menu drew us in, but within 5 minutes and a few sips of our pints we knew we were not staying. Staff lovely and friendly but the whole place stinks and I mean bad. It's like a fake flower strong... More

My, you were a busy lady this weekend with 4 reviews! However, I must respond factually and I will. Shall we start with the 'fake flower' smell. Every table, bar & restaurant has fresh flowers on it, Perhaps that;s where the nasty smell emanated? Or possibly the necessary air freshener in the toilets crept with it being so busy all... More
