This hotel advertises their fish and chip meal using a wooden box and wire tray. Fish was well cooked but the box and wire do not make easy eating. How about a plate please. Next time I am passing I will pop in again and ask for a plate. It is peaceful and scenic to eat outside in the garden.

We visited the Hotel for food last week and were blown away by the beautiful gardens and well stocked whisky cabinet. Chatted for a while with the new managers who are working really hard to bring the place up to date (have only been in post for two weeks!). Had the potted rabbit which was brilliant and salmon which also... More

I went in with my father in law for fish and chips last week (Wednesday lunctime). What we found funny given the location was that the fish isn't fresh - surely this could be their main selling point. What we were served came on really nice wooden platters but tasted average at best. When asked, the staff stated the scampi... More

We had fantastic fish and chips on Friday night the hotel was very busy so we had to wait a wee while but well worth it, will be going back again. Will be recommending this hotel to my family and friends.

Kilchoan Hotel has had another change of management ,they are offering 5 star food and service for 3 star prices. You are greeted with a Highland welcome by Sarah or her team, the atmosphere is relaxed with coal fires in the bars. The Menu is totally unexpected for a rural Highland hotel. Your biggest problem will be in deciding what... More

Me and my husband were staying at the local campsite and decided to eat out one night. We headed to the Kilchoan hotel. As we walked in there was loads of locals standing around the bar and for a second I felt like we were intruding, however we were greeted with smiles and people chatted to us. We had a... More

Better menu than I remember last time I visited, food generally of higher quality too. Enjoyed one meal and decided to try the fish and chip fridays - made the booking but there was no table because another big booking had been taken. Managed to sort out a compromise in the end. Definitely better then before, hope it keeps heading... More

My new husband and I went to Ardnamurchan for a little break after the wedding. We decided to go here for a meal on the first night as it was in cycling distance of the campsite. We received a very warm welcome and the restaurant is very nicely laid out. We really enjoyed our food and the atmosphere in the... More

I have been here a couple of times in the last year. It's in a great setting and is quite cosy. However, service always seems to be a bit slow for food and drinks. Once we went for the Friday fish supper and despite ordering in the afternoon for a set time in the evening the food was still over... More

Welcoming host, easy going bar, with bar meals, good beers etc. Good cooked breakfasts, room was large, all facilities present but bathroom needs a shower as well as a bath
