Thank you. My wife has not eaten her fish in batter for years, being wheat-free, so this was a special occasion. The haddock was out of this world - swam straight from the sea into the fryer. Had to go back later to confirm our impression and have another go! The mussels are equally excellent. Wish they did a delivery... More

First time in five years I have been in Shetland I decided to take my family to try famous fish and chips place. Unfortunately it will be our last time. The place smelled of urine. And the floor looked like has not been moped for maybe a few months. I really did not want to stay but my husband convinced... More

Thank you for your review of Frankie's Fish & Chips. We are disappointed and puzzled as to why you did not discuss your concerns with Management at the time of your visit. We can assure you that our shop is cleaned thoroughly daily with the floors being washed at least once a day and steam cleaned every few weeks. We... More

Must admit the fish I had from here was the tastiest and freshest I think I've ever had. The chips were run of the mill, had better at a chippy in Lerwick but the overall experience and views etc this was certainly one.of the best chip shops I've eaten in.

We booked a table following a recommendation from friends. The food really was very good and the young waiting staff were very attentive. Huge portions with the Muckle Haddock. One complaint might be charging 40p per onion ring (the frozen processed variety) when you already make excellent batter. Would definitely go again.

Everything you want in a chippy: good food, not oily, large helpings, very quick service, friendly staff, reasonable prices. Well worth driving a few miles across Shetland to reach. Definitely deserves it's reputation in the guidebooks etc.

We went here on the recommendation of friends. Meant to be the best fish and chips in the Shetlands. They were good here but not amazing. Very good value for what it was. Would come here again if I was coming to the Shetlands again - it's a long way from the South of England!!!

Brilliant fish and chips available in a key location for road routes around the mainland. Fabulous haddock, and lots of knowledge about sourcing and local environment on display. In spite of the great selection of seafood on the menu, we stuck to the simple option as it was very nearly closing time when we rolled up - the simmer dim... More

My wife and I treated ourselves to lunch today, and as we don't normally have a big lunch we restricted ourselves to the Pensioner's Special Menu. This gives you a choice of either soup and main, or main and sweet. We had the soup, which is always a little different from the run of the mill restaurant soups. Today it... More

Nothing to dislike, my son works in the Shetlands and likes to visit this chip shop whenever he can. I tried the Crab Claws, they were great but there was not too much eating in them
