A gastronomic gem, nestling in amongst the islands

I love this restaurant, and thoroughly enjoy my annual pilgrimage to Ulva and the boat house. The sea food is outstanding. Excellent food. Pots of dressed crab followed by Lemon meringue tarts - some of which we also used as take-away. Beautiful day, walks and Ferry crossing - the best day of our holiday.

After a two and a half hour walk on the island amidst beautiful scenery, we arrived back at the boathouse around 2pm. We sat outside admiring the view and ordered the mixed seafood platter. It was amazing and included langoustines, oysters, crab and more at a very reasonable price. We completed the meal with homemade cake. The best meal of... More

We visit Mull most years and one of the things we never miss doing is to take the foot ferry over to the beautiful island of Ulva and visit this fantastic little restaurant. It is a super little place serving delicious food. The cakes are all home made and the seafood is always fresh and excellent with oysters, langoustine and... More

Stopped here for lunch during our hike on the Island. Very cozy little cafe. Had fantastic plates with oysters. Very pricy. Definitley worth the detour out to this Island.

This was the best day out so far on our trip,we had been awake through a storm all night in our tent and the weather had not been kind on the road.We came round the bend again through the driving freezing rain and hello blue sky.Instant wow. Decided there and then let's jump the little foot ferry over.Lovely sailing over... More

Visited the Boathouse Cafe twice on our brief walk on Ulva. First for a cake and coffee to set us up before our walk and then a soup, bread, and tea to reward us for doing the scrambling bit of the Livingstone Walk. The Boathouse is a very well run friendly cafe with excellent food AND the coffee was super.... More

Well worth the drive across Mull. Took the ferry over to Ulva on a beautiful sunny day. Just move the panel from white to red and the boat comes for you, 5 minute trip on the boat. Glad I phoned before though as they don't run on Saturday and don't do Sunday's until June. Lovely homemade food and fresh fish... More

This was truly the most delicious seafood I have ever eaten, served by the most delightful young ladies. The whole Ulva trip was so good, a lovely walk, sweet church, ending up at this great restaurant. I would thoroughly recommend a good day out. It was even raining, and we still enjoyed it! In the sunshine, it would be even... More
