The Boathouse - A Braw Cafe

Visited the Boathouse Cafe twice on our brief walk on Ulva. First for a cake and coffee to set us up before our walk and then a soup, bread, and tea to reward us for doing the scrambling bit of the Livingstone Walk. The Boathouse is a very well run friendly cafe with excellent food AND the coffee... read more

Well worth the drive across Mull. Took the ferry over to Ulva on a beautiful sunny day. Just move the panel from white to red and the boat comes for you, 5 minute trip on the boat. Glad I phoned before though as they don't run on Saturday and don't do Sunday's until June. Lovely homemade food and fresh fish... More

This was truly the most delicious seafood I have ever eaten, served by the most delightful young ladies. The whole Ulva trip was so good, a lovely walk, sweet church, ending up at this great restaurant. I would thoroughly recommend a good day out. It was even raining, and we still enjoyed it! In the sunshine, it would be even... More

We had a fantastic time in Ulva from the wee ferry ride over, the lovely walk round the island and the food and friendly service in the Boathouse was excellent. A definite must for a day out. Back in time and an enchanting island.

Plenty of parking at Ulva Ferry... go early to get most out of the day. We loved the red painted ferry 'call board'...if the ferry is over at Ulva... just push the red wooden board across and Donald will come and fetch you!. And so the peaceful pace begins. We arrived in rainy drich so headed straight for a hot... More

I came to The Boathouse in July 2014, for lunch, while driving through the Isle of Mull. Took the ferry over to Ulva, and had the famous lunch here. It was lovely - the view, the ferry ride, the food, the staff. Thank you!

This was one of the best days of my holidays. Ulva ferry over to Ulva Island, a day's walking in the sunshine topped off by a seafood platter served in the sunshine at The Ulva Boathouse before catching the ferry back to Mull. Oysters, smoked salmon, langoustines, salmon, crab pate, fresh bread and butter, lemon and salt mmmm heaven. A... More

We had a lovely walk and the most amazing lunch. We had 'prawns' which were huge, we would call them langoustines, they were so tasty and fished locally. Very friendly and accommodating people, along with the ferryman. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

A great little restaurant serving simple but delicious food. Take the ferry over, have lunch, go for a march around Ulva, then head back for hard earned tea and cake. Fab. One consideration is that if you pop over for lunch only, the price of the ferry (£6 each) can make lunch seem a bit pricey. So make a day... More

After a beautiful walk in great weather we had the best filled roll we have ever had! Home made rolls, which are huge, fully filled with melt in the mouth ham and a view to go with it. Highly recommend !
