Good If you like rustic

Visited for dinner during the week when dinner is half price on certain dishes,( not steaks ). We were originally seated in the bar area which was crowded with locals and not a good area as I was constantly jostled by people going to and from the bar. We requested being moved to the restaurant... read more

The banner outside boldly proclaim "REAL ALES" however there were none to be found inside, just Carling, Peroni and a bitter. It was nice to sit outside in view of the church and scenery and have a drink in the sunshine and the staff were friendly - however after going in on the promise of real ales and not finding... Our first visit to the George and Dragon (indeed our first visit to the village of Seaton) and it won't be our last. The George and Dragon is set in the lovely village of Seaton on the edge of the Welland Valley , the pub itself has lots of olde worlde charm , and as several other reviewers have said,... More

Tucked away in the beautiful village of Seaton, the George and Dragon is loused in a 17th century building with many of the original features intact. The bar area is small and intimate and the food was outstanding.

We stayed in a holiday cottage is Seaton for a week in March, and the George & Dragon was only about 100 metres from the door, so of course we tried this pub first before going to other pubs in neighbouring villages. What we found when we entered was an old, sweet room overflowing with warmth and character (and characters).... More

My Australian guest is a railway enthusiast,so today, March 27th 2015 I took him to see the Harringworth Viaduct. We were lucky to spot the pub restaurant as we searched for another vantage-point for more pictures and made our way back there for lunch - not knowing what to expect, but hungry. We were not disappointed! My guest had the... More

We like a pub open all hours, with friendly staff and lots of handpumps. To be honest, this did not seem like our sort of place. Only open around food times it was hard to get a handle on without going the whole hog and eating there. So, on holiday, and on a whim and a prayer, we did. Cosy... More

Visited: October 2014. This place is one to avoid. The real ales are poorly kept thus taste and smell very bad, you do get plenty of free sediment in the bottom of your glass, though! The food was a huge let down too, obviously microwaved, bland and VERY slow! As if that isnt enough, building work (that according to locals... More

Visited this pub with friends last Thursday to take advantage of their 2-for-1 dining offer. All main courses ( steak, game pie, and belly pork) were enjoyed as were the desserts.Although some extension building work is onoing to provide B&B accommodation, this didn't really adversely affect the atmosphere which was pleasant and convivial. Staff were friendly. All in all a... More
