Lunch and evening meal

Had lunch after a cycle ride around the reservoir while on holiday in the area. Baguettes and jacket potatoes were good so decided would come back for an evening meal. my sister, children and I went to this pub on sun 23rd august. my daughter left her phone there. we went back the following day, and one of the staff had seen it, picked it up, and although we returned the next day when the pub was still closed, we were given the phone by the staff member who had... Ate twice here last week. Basic sandwich and chips fine but other meals in the evening were inedible. The soup and garlic mushrooms were inedible. Staff were either very friendly or very grumpy. Strange place. Shame as could be perfect as has a great play area and good out door seating.

Nice place for quick lunch. We had fish&chips. Good prices, friendly staff. A kind of self service. You need to order at the bar and grab your cutlery. Fish good but not the best I've eaten.

Ordered food early evening. Waited 50 mins. Asked where the food was. Friendly waiter said 5 mins. Food came after one hour of ordering. Asked waiter for a discount for waiting so long and came back to offer free desserts. We don't usually have desserts so kindly declined. Moments later the landlady came over and offered a drink but I... More

We'd passed this pub a few times as we'd been staying in the local area and decided to give it a try for lunch. Good British staple pub grub for a reasonable price, served promptly and really tasty! Everyone was very helpful and the chocolate fudge cake was to die for! Lovely outside area with umbrellas and a good view.... More

We met up with relatives for Saturday lunch. The pub was busy. We ordered drinks whilst we looked at the menu - specials on a chalk board behind the bar. We ordered our food at the bar and didn't have to wait long for it to be served. Food was good; portion sizes just right! Our friends shared a dessert... More

The loose black rubbery 'bark' on the children's playground (shredded tyre?) left children absolutely covered in black grime - filthy bodies and ruined clothes as it hasn't come out of the clothes even on a 60 degree wash with Vanish. Such a shame as the playground equipment was actually really good. Food was average, many things unavailable at 6pm on... More

We ordered 2 adult and 2 kids meals at 5pm. Waited 45 minutes, then thought we'd ask when the food was coming (1 and 3 year old getting very hungry). Landlady was unbelievably rude and actually said I was moaning in front of the whole lounge. She stormed off saying she'd put the meals on hold. We got a refund... More

It was a lovely sunny day and all the doors were open so we could see everyone outside enjoying the glorious weather. The dining area was beautifully set out and as soon as we were seated we were greeted by a very pleasant young man who explained we needed to go to the bar area to order drinks and our... More
