We met up with friends for lunch on a very wet and windy day. When we arrived we were offered a table by a roaring log burner which was really welcome on such a miserable day. We decided to take advantage of the offer of two courses for £8.99 that's on until the end of the week. Tracy made us... More

Superb Mixed Grill - and that was just the small one! Washed down with a couple of pints of Pedigree. Next time I might try the monster one. Friendly service from Tracey.

Sunday 17/01/16 Just had Sunday lunch for 7 (+ dog) at the Knockerdown Inn near Carsington Reservoir. Dog welcome in the bar area. Plenty of choice of food on the printed menu as well as a choice of several meats for a traditional Sunday lunch. The food was obviously home cooked and very tasty. Certainly go there again. Also useful... More

Lovely comfortable and warm surroundings, with friendly and helpful service from all the staff, and especially accommodating as one of our party is a Coeliac sufferer. The food was excellent and gluten-free options for most dishes are available. Tracy and the waitresses need special mention for making doubly sure that that everything was fine and quickly answering any questions we... More

Visited a couple of weeks ago with visiting friends, after reading decent reviews. Food ok but small portions for price. Beer (hobgoblin) was undrinkable and smelt of strong vinegar, so returned it. No apology at all and offered exactly same in return. Declined and asked for the other real ale. After paying and leaving, we found we had been charged... More

Came out for a meal with the family, everyone one commented on how much they enjoyed the food, the service and how friendly the staff are. The Knockerdown I can definitely recommend. We have been before and can safely say that we will come back again very soon A+ place to visit
