Fine food and Cornish Charm

We had two meals there recently, the first just my wife and I and the second with another couple. On both occasions the food and service were outstanding, we particularly enjoyed the slices of wild garlic bread brought to us before the meal. The food is delicious and the service excellent. We have been as a couple for a romantic meal and several times in a large group. The beef brisket is superb.

we stayed locally for a wedding and had dinner here the night before the festivities. It was good value (compared to the home counties), the hosts were welcoming and friendly and the food was good.

My daughter and her family had recommended this pub/restaurant and I was overwhelmed by the quality of food and service. We were greeted warmly in a relaxed manner, shown our table and left to browse the menu. Dishes were explained and choices were made. I had a crab starter and my hubby a pan fried smoked salmon started followed by... More

We revisited this place last week (having been there a year or so ago) and what a delight it was. Really good service, excellent food, a delightful bottle of wine within a really attractive gastro-pub. There is one down-side....the car park is narrow and a bit awkward to negotiate when the place is busy. Prebooking essential because locals and tourists... More

Another favourite restaurant that we always enjoy. The menu is well thought out, the ingredients fresh and locally sourced. Service is superb. If the beef brisket is on the menu it is well worth trying, the best I have ever had.

The Ship seems at first glance like an attractive unassuming pub, and that is part of its charm. The quality of the food, however, puts a lot of smart restaurants to shame. Every course chosen by our party of three was a beautifully presented, imaginative dish with perfectly balanced flavours, and using great locally-sourced produce. The steak is presented simply... Fantastic food - really like the fact I wasn't overwhelmed by too much choice. Every dish our party had was delicious. Really good wine too - I highly recommend the Malbec. Friendly staff and a relaxed atmosphere. A good price for the quality of food you get. Thanks for a great evening

Visited on Tuesday evening, arrived early which is a good thing as this place is very popular. We started with a very nice Gin & Tonic, they stock the amazing Curio Rock Samphire Gin, we all opted for Steak, 2 of us rump, 1 sirloin and tomato & basil pasta for my young son, I asked for medium and it... There is a really good choice of menu here, efficient staff and plenty of seating inside and out. It is dog and child friendly. I would recommend it to anyone visiting the village.
