Great for an early bird deal

We went for 6pm as there was an offer of 2 courses with a side and glass of wine for £12.95 each. It was quiet but that doesn't deter us. Had a chicken paté to start accompanied with a glass of house white. Mains I had mussles and partner had belly pork as ironically she isn't a big fish eater.... read more

Had a sea bream with cockles. At least 30% of the cockles hadn't opened and should have been discarded. Discussed with the waiter who confirmed this should be the case but he explained that they may have been steamed for so long they closed! He said he'd have a word with the chef - the conversation lasted less than 30... More

Brilliant meal here last night with my friend. Beautiful old church and amazing the way they have done the interior keep a lot of the beautiful features and making it into an amazing restaurant. Lovely and warm inside. Attentive staff and fantastic meal. We both started with the mussels, I followed with the fish and chips and my friend had... More

Five of us had our family christmas Day lunch at Loch Fyne. We had looked forward to enjoying a perfect meal in this upmarket reataurant which has a reputation for excellence. Sadly we were somewhat disappointed. The service was painfully slow - it was more than half an hour before we were 'appeased' with some plain bread! We enjoyed the... More

We went for breakfast at Loch Fyne Gosforth this morning and received very poor service. We arrived at 11am and, having waited 5 minutes to be met by a member of staff to seat us, we're finally greeted by the manager who ushered us to a table. There was no hello or good morning. No pleasant it's at all! We... More

I booked a table for 12 for 1st January 2016 before 31 Oct 2015 and paid a deposit as well as preordering our meals. All this as requested in order to qualify for complementary meal for 2. I received a phone call from the restaurant checking my details in order to put me forward for the offer. To date, I... More

Surroundings are cold and noisy but then it is an old church - parking is difficult - food choice is a little limited but very nicely cooked

It's a long time since we visited this place and maybe it has improved since then. Haven't the first idea what the food was like as we were ushered in, taken to one table of a reasonable size by the meeter and greeter then told to sit at a tiny little table with a great big post next to us.... As soon as we entered this beautiful building, my sister and I knew we were in for a treat. We were welcomed by a friendly waitress and directed to our table at lunch time. The ambience is modern and appealing to both young and older. We both ordered the Fish & Chip Friday special which included a glass of very... More
