We dined here for my friends birthday as we both adore seafood!! The setting an old church is remarkable ground floor and mezzanine. When we arrived downstairs was quite busy so we were shown to mezzanine which is set up in roof of church beautiful. Unfortunately there was no heating on as it was allegedly broken at first it didn't... More

We visited last Friday at 6.30pm for my birthday and were very impressed as soon as we arrived. The restaurant is beautiful outside and in and very well laid out. We had short wait and were shown to our table by our very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful waiter. Table was great, right at the front so we could see all... More

Friends and & visited for lunch on a weekday. The restaurant is located in an old church and has been sympathetically renovated into a restaurant. The service was good, the waiter friendly and informative and there was a good choice of food on the menu. We all chose different dishes and everyone enjoyed their meal, no-one had any negative comments... More

Loch Fyne at Gosforth is a great place for lunch. Housed in a lovely converted church the service from Hayley our waitress was excellent. Good set menu and the value is spot on but there are other choices/specials etc.Try the cullen skink it is 'hearty' and gorgeous, the parfait on the set menu is also well worth a try. Someone mentioned... More

Visited on a Saturday night, good food - I'd recommend the scallops with haggis to start and the option of picking the fish you like, sauce and sides- 2 of us had tuna (well cooked), 1 had cod (again good) - nice to be able to build your meal yourself. 1 of the party had a haddock dish with mash... Enjoyed great selection of food. The kitchen is visible in the dining hall which adds value to the experience. Went on Friday evening and it was pleasantly busy . The service was exceptional, friendly, personal, helpful and informed. The only question our waitress could not answer was about the salinity of a sea loch!

We booked for lunch at this restaurant and were not disappointed by the quality of the food served and the excellent menu offered. We had previously lunched at another restaurant nearby which was a huge disappointment for us and which subsequently cost as much as Loch Fyne did, but the latter was very professional, courses offered at special rates, and... Very nice setting, in a converted church. We went here because we wanted to try out a place on Gosforth High St instead of heading to town. The food was OK - good starter of black pudding and scallops. I had the monkfish which, unbelievably for a specialist fish restaurant, was overgrilled. The wines we had were distinctly acidic and... We are frequent visitors to Loch Fyne in Gosforth - great food, friendly staff and a cracking setting. We often go early (with our kids who love the food on offer). Nothing is a problem for the friendly staff who ensure you have a great meal. I know it gets much busier later on - but for us an early... More

An early meeting found us in Gosforth, just before 10.00am feeling peckish! We have dined several times at Loch Fyne for lunch or dinner, so decided to try them for breakfast. The setting in a converted church is just lovely, bright, spacious and airy. The breakfast menu is obviously predominantly fish based. My husband chose kippers with poached eggs while... More
