Wonderful early Mother's Day meal!

I visited this pub on the Thursday evening prior to Mother's Day so as to avoid the crowds. The pub is a traditional country pub and feels like a small local. Things got off to a good start with well kept Timothy Taylor Landlord Ale. The young-ish bar staff were cheerful, helpful and... read more

Booked a table for a party of 28 to celebrate my mum's birthday here. So welcoming and accommodating to our needs. Food was lovely and generous portions. Another visit booked for mother's day.

We really enjoyed our meal at the Waggon and Horses, a cosy and welcoming country pub. On arrival we were met in a very friendly manner and the customer service we experienced all evening was excellent. The Timothy Taylor beer was very good and the food we had was fresh, well presented and delicious. If you've never eaten here, give... More

Have visited this pub many times but decided to write a review as its long overdue Its a traditional village pub and décor is in keeping with its age, location etc. Landlord is a very amiable chap, always friendly and smiley which helps the ambience. Have eaten here approx. 10 times now and have not had a bad meal yet.... More

Great pub for a lazy Sunday afternoon with family & friends and is currently our pub of choice in the local area. We chanced upon it after an absence of some years not realising that they closed at 6.00pm on Sundays, we left at 7.00pm with no sense of being rushed such was the relaxing atmosphere we enjoyed since arriving... Went here on 11th Jan for a birthday tea, what a let down. Lager was flat then when wife's meal came that had brought her a vegetable lasagne instead of a meat lasagna, it looked like a bowl of soup, my mum ordered battered prawns but they forgot the prawns. Never again will we call here for a meal, terrible... More

Dear Andrew W Thank you for your review on trip advisor although I must say obviously we are disappointed with the 2 star rating. I have spoken with the staff that were working that day and they remember your visit. Yes you were served vegetable lasagne instead of the meat lasagne and that was entirely our mistake as it was...
