Lovely Birthday Meal

First visit and will not be the last. All four starters and mains were excellent and those that had room for desert were equally impressed. Generous portions and all homemade. Friendly staff and attentive service. All in all a lovely birthday meal

Eaten there many times over the years but getting depressed withe the decor, nothing to look at needs a fire I the winter in the main room, and something on the walls to warm up the interior, the Carling Cider is the worst I've had, not a complaint of the pub but the type of cider.

Dear Michael P Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We are sorry that you feel that the décor is depressing. We have repainted the whole pub, added a new colour scheme, new upholstery, curtains etc along with refurbishing the ladies and mens toilets 6 months ago. You mentioned opening the fire up in the top end... More

My wife and I decidied to pop over to have Sunday lunch at the W&H for the first time in about 9 years. The food and service were good (it was a typical Sunday roast, but the vegetables and yorkshire puddings were freshly cooked) but we left the place feeling slightly underwhelmed by the experience. Essentially, we just thought that... More

I visited this pub on the Thursday evening prior to Mother's Day so as to avoid the crowds. The pub is a traditional country pub and feels like a small local. Things got off to a good start with well kept Timothy Taylor Landlord Ale. The young-ish bar staff were cheerful, helpful and welcoming and it immediately felt like a... More

We really enjoyed our meal at the Waggon and Horses, a cosy and welcoming country pub. On arrival we were met in a very friendly manner and the customer service we experienced all evening was excellent. The Timothy Taylor beer was very good and the food we had was fresh, well presented and delicious. If you've never eaten here, give... More

Have visited this pub many times but decided to write a review as its long overdue Its a traditional village pub and décor is in keeping with its age, location etc. Landlord is a very amiable chap, always friendly and smiley which helps the ambience. Have eaten here approx. 10 times now and have not had a bad meal yet.... More

Great pub for a lazy Sunday afternoon with family & friends and is currently our pub of choice in the local area. We chanced upon it after an absence of some years not realising that they closed at 6.00pm on Sundays, we left at 7.00pm with no sense of being rushed such was the relaxing atmosphere we enjoyed since arriving... Went here on 11th Jan for a birthday tea, what a let down. Never again will we call here for a meal, terrible... More

Dear Andrew W Thank you for your review on trip advisor although I must say obviously we are disappointed with the 2 star rating.
