Busy but Good

Went here on a bank holiday weekend evening. It was ever so busy, and at first I didn't like it, but the staff worked hard, there were plenty of them and they knew what they were doing. Great selection of real ales reasonably priced. It was very busy with families eating, but as they began to... read more

Ate here today for lunch with friends. We were quite earlier so not busy and got a table no problem outside. Food was really lovely! Mini fish and chips for one child and sausage and chips for the other and both ate every bite and said was really tasty. I had a triple decker chicken sandwich on granary and it... More

I live in Maldon and work near the Quay, take it from me, this is the best one. The food is good with sizeable portions, you won't get a better pint anywhere else in the town and the view is up there with the best of them. It can get busy, so be prepared.

Went to visit the queenshead monday bank hols 26th may 2015. Im a vegan, they didnt have alot to offer but they did have a really lovely potato and spinach curry with rice, and they went out of their way to do it without dairy. So happy and it was yummy.

We were a family of four adults . We ordered scampi , jacket potato , and 2 lamb dinners. The food came out quick and the meals were quite large. The food was absolutely yummy. Prices were a bit on the high side . But would definately recommend a visit

Had two excellent Ploughmans Lunches, mine was the Cheddar and Ham and the other order was Brie. There was plenty of Cheese and Ham and salad. Lovely French Bread and plenty of butter for the bread. Was very busy but not too long a wait. All the other food looked tasty too.

Having happened on The Queens Head on our first evening, we decided to look no further. A proper pub atmosphere combined with good food and drink and excellent service make for a very pleasant evening

Visited Tuesday lunchtime. Ordered food & sat outside - waited 40 mins for food to arrive and then it was only average. Gammon steak was actually 2 pork chops on top of potatoes and the all day breakfast is only served between 11am and 12!!

Visited here on a Saturday night with friends. They serve food until 9pm at the bar but you have to find a table when it's free which can be difficult if it's busy with drinkers. In the summer you can sit outside on the many benches overlooking the Hythe Quay and river. Three of us had the chilli con carne... More
