Visited the queens head again for some lunch . We love siting outside . Even more so this time as there was a family swans swimming up and down in the water . Lovely outlook for a spot of lunch on a sunny September afternoon . My hubby and I both had omelettes . They were fluffy and delicious .... More

We decided to take a day trip to Maldon, from Chelmsford, to specifically come here for Fish and Chips, sit in the sun with a bottle of wine. Well the food was fantastic. it was £10 for fish and chips, which we initially thought was pricey until you see the size of the portion! we sat in the sun, service... More

I ate here with my mother and was very disappointed. The food was no where near as good as it was the last time we ate there and the desert menu was very poor. Our deserts, when they arrived, were a big disappointment. Mass produced and little flavour. The ladies behind the bar were not at all welcoming and very... More

Visited there as part of the trip to Maldon. It was quite a hot day (the main park area was packed) so expected trouble finding even a seat, never mind actually eating but thankfully got a seat very quickly outside Reasonable prices and the food was delivered quickly. Would go again if in the area. Only negative was being hassled... More

We were recommended this pub for food, which lived up to its recommendation, steak around 12oz cooked as ordered with chips and onion rings and salad for the princely sum of £12 others were equally well satisfied with their meals, had a cheese platter to finish with five large pieces of different cheese, biscuits and chutneys £6, well stuffed for... This is the first eatery I have visited in the last two years since I found I was gluten intolerant that cooks meals, as a matter of course where possible, gluten free! The menu is clearly marked GF, all starters are GF if ordered without bread and even three desserts marked GF too - the latter is usually totally off... More

An nice setting, some nice fish. Unfortunately all negated by rude, unhelpful, sullen bar staff. Family friendly? Apparently, not friendly at all.

Good food and top entertainment thourghout the summer also Chritmas and New Year festivities In the summer sit out in the sunshine beside the river Blackwater watching the local boats or in the Winter sit inside in the snug warmth. Friendly smiling staff to boot. The vegetables are mostly grown on land opposite the pub and therefore much tastier than... More

We went for lunch and sat outside. The drinks were fairly flat, the waitresses behind the bar were miserable. The food was ok but the omelette was not cooked enough. It still had runny egg. We have had better food here before.
