I have been here quite a few times now. The food has always been delicious and the seating is spot on. The only down side to eating and drinking here is the time to get served at the bar. I completely understand that when it's busy, you will need to wait a little longer for service, but every time I... More

Very good plateful's of food at a fair price of £10 per main. Good beer. Genuinely friendly staff who all looked as if they enjoyed serving us ! A lovely water... More

We eat here regularly through the summer and the food is always good. Fish and chips are amazing and the specials are also very good. Whether you're looking for a snack or a full meal you won't go far wrong here!

Lovely pub right on river edge. Lots of seating and spotlessly clean inside and out. Waiting staff and bar staff all friendly. Food reasonably priced, as were the drinks, which is unusual for a riverside bar. Food freshly cooked and was delicious, would deffinatly reccomend the cheesy chips. First time we went we had a 45 minute wait for food... More

Had an Impromptu visit to this pub today and found the menu different, but not too fancy. We both chose plaice on a parmesan mash infused with greens and anchovies. When it arrived,on top of the mash was two fillets of very tender and melt in the mouth of plaice, absolutely delicious. For dessert I had a warm chocolate pot with two pieces of ginger... Went for a walk down the High Street and ended up at The Queens Head on Maldon quayside. We were only going to have a beer but then we saw some of the food coming out of the kitchen. Had jacket potato with chilli and cheese, and my fair lady had chicken in a bun with salad and chips. How... More

My wife an I decided that the weather was so nice we would have lunch out, taking into account that earlier on in the week we had spent £50 on a lunch time meal and the truth is you can only get so much blood out of a stone. We chose The Queens Head Maldon because it is situated nicely... More

Went for lunch on Friday, it was a nice day so we sat outside. The service was average but the food was very nice. The cheese was very strong which makes a change, normally most places now it is tasteless.
