This small restaurant in Settignano was such a find. The owner, Michael, was so passionate about his food and provided undoubtedly the best service experience of our trip. Michael carves two types of aged proscuitto in front of customers, and offered excellent explanations about the best of Tuscan food and wine. He catered for our children with a simple pasta... More

Fantastic meal. Very friendly english speaking owner. Specialises in cured meats. The owner is the cook, waiter, sommelier and cashier but its worth the wait. Need to have 2-3 courses to fill up but the prices are very reasonable. He also whipped up simple but delicious cheesy pasta for the kids. Long wine list of French and Italian wines.

We discovered this gem of a restaurant at the end of our stay in Settignano. Michael and his wife know and understand food and wine. We sampled the microbrewed beer and the wine. Although the menu is in Italian, Michael explained each of the dishes. Our table of 8 shared a plate of sliced meats-the surprise was the Iberico ham!... More

We had taken the No. 10 bus from Florence to visit this hill town and particularly Villa Gamberaia. Although we couldn't stay for dinner (next time) we had a beautifully fresh croissant, nicely served latte and Americano coffee. We chatted with the friendly owner a while. For anyone who would like to have a "special" dinner I think this would... More

Decided to try lunch here after reading the tripadvisor reviews and weren't disappointed. Don't be put off by the Italian menu, your host will only be too pleased to help, with the food, the wine and the micro brewery beers. All the food is fresh and the pasta homemade and from what we could gather the menu changes daily depending... More

When visiting Florence there is a lovely walk from Fiesole to Settignano with amazing views over Florence. Arriving in Settignano you will have the opportunity to visit this café in the square while waiting for the bus back into Florence Piazza San Marco. Well take a later bus and linger. We did not eat there but the menu sounds interesting.... More

The waiter and the owner took extra effort, and fun, to help us understand what we were eating and what was special. My wife had nettle's on her pasta which we all tried with interest. My daughter had great ravioli and I had braised beef. Wine to fit our palette as well.

I wasn't going to write a review at first since my partner and I did not try that many dishes. That said, everything we ate was delicious. The crostini appetizers, cavolo nero (kale) and fagioli ( white beans) were much tastier than many I've eaten in the past. My ravioli with gorgonzola and stewed radicchio was equally good. The ravioli... More

I was there with my brother and friends waiting midnight for my birthday. We started the dinner taking some "bruschette" (kind of tapas) very good, as main course I took "fettuccine con marroni and cipolla", quiet heavy but with a special taste. I decided to take also the second course, "il Peposo" very delicious. Sweety end for me with "tartufo... More

We stopped there for lunch on our way to Villa Gamberaia. The owner gave us a warm welcome. He talked about the wine and the food with such a passion.Truly catching. He poured a drop of wine in the glass, letting it dance in the glass to clean it.Poured the wine used for cleaning in an other glass and then poured in the nectar.Quite...
