Cream of red beans Butter of goat's milk with black truffle Salted anchovy with toasted bread Chorizo elaborated from acorn-fed pork Mushrooms Cantharellus and artichoke Oyster with spinach Prawns of Palamos Sea cucumber with white beans Scrambled eggs with black truffle Buttered whiting and chard Cod jowls with vizcaina sauce Baby... Despite a minor GPS malfunction in getting here, the setting and location and amazing. The tasting menu was excellent, the minimalist approach to cooking really highlighting the freshness of the local produce, a hallmark of Basque cuisine. The service was pleasant but a little lacking. We waited over half an hour at the end of the meal for the bill,... More

Opening Remarks: -Asador Etxebarri is located in the Atxondo valley at the foothills of Mt. Anboto, about an hour away from San Sebastian. -Asador means roaster, and Etxebarri (pronounced Etch-e-barri) is a Basque word comprised of “etxe” meaning home, and “barri” meaning new. -The restaurant has 1 Michelin star, is named the 34th best restaurant in the world, and is... I really admire when someone wants to be very good in his craft, Victor (the chef and mastermind of Etxebarri) has achieved almost perfection in grilling AMAZING products to a standard I haven't seen before (and I've done my fair share of eating in Tokyo/Paris/NY). The beef was definitely the tastiest and juiciest piece of beef I've ever tried (more... More

I went with some customers this week and I really liked everything we where served after so many months wanting to visit the place I finally had a chance. The place was at a magnificent location in a lovely valley, and the food first quality, but a bit too much plain grill, and I knew beforehand that was what I... More

Finally we know how a lobster, a shrimp or an oyster really taste when it is perfect. Not to mention sirloin and a variety of other excellent regional ingredients out of which Stefano and his crew is devoted to lure new and absolutley sensational qualities. Everything is cooked over or prepared in the vicinity of the fireplace, using different qualities... More

This is a most remarkable place to eat ! In this tiny village Mr Etxebarri runs a bar for the villagers on the ground floor and serves lunch on the first floor every day and... dinner only on Saturdays. The decor is simple but to-the-point. Etxebarri cooks everything on a wood grill, with only himself and one helper in the... More

Early November the weather was glorious and we had a three hour lunch on the terrace. Such a pleasant experience. The food is actually reasonably simple but absolutely delicious. Service is efficient and gracious. Very nice wine pairing. When going to San Sebastián this is really a place to go to even though an hour drive away.
