A Taste of Cuban Food...Who Knew?

I always try Cuban Sandwiches every where I go. By far, outside of Puerto Rico, this place hit the note. The location, in an small strip mall in Doral, Florida, is clean and the staff very nice. The sandwich are made the way I was raised. Sweet ham, cheese, "pernil" pickles, butter. None of that lettuce, tomato and salami like... More

I came here with my family yesterday. The food was AMAZING. My whole family had a great time. Their fried pork chunks, mushroom omelette, and club sandwiches were delicious. Best of all though, was their scrambled eggs with tomatoes and cheese.

On way to Caribbean Cruise stayed next door at Hilton Hampton Inn...walked to El Tropico and had the best homemade Cubano sandwiches as well as fresh homemade Sangria and Blackbeans and rice. Food was authentic, tasted wonderful and priced reasonably....would recommend to anyone looking for a good taste of Cuban food.

Came here today to get my favorite liquid medicine - sopa de pollo - chicken soup. Unfortunately they had just run out and given the last batch to the customer before me so I had to wait for fresh batch to be made but it was worth the 10 minute wait and Sylvia who is one of the best waitresses... Very good cuban food. I had the fried pork medallions with fried plantains and black beans. Huge portion sizes. All very good. Great food for very reasonable price. Also had the churros. My only problem ( and this is my fault more than their ) is that I don't speak spanish , and the wait staff spoke very little english.... More

Not sure what happened today but my meal which was the chicken with mushroom sauce was stone cold and the sauce had a skin on top of it - it was really pretty bad. I didn't send it back as I was with a group of friends celebrating Christmas early and didn't want to cause a problem. Service was great... More

This place was recommended by the hotel we stayed in and we are so happy we went. This place is awesome. The breakfast was fabulous and the service was great. If I could eat here every day, I would. I am sorry that there is not someplace like this at home. It there were, I would be a regular customer.

I'm not a great judge of what authentic for Cuban cuisine since my benchmark are a few Cuban restaurants in the NJ/New York City area, but I found El Tropico to be the best Cuban meal I've had, hands down! I had a lechon asado (roasted pork) with tostones (fried smashed plantains.) The pork was absolutely succulent, well-marinated, fatty, juicy... More

If you travel to Miami and want to try a good CUBAN BREAKFAST go to this place! Café con Leche with Cuban toast, Eggs, Bacon, Fries, freshly squeeze juice... The place is good! The owner is always around to treat you like family!!!
