Just beer

No food as yet but the beer and staff first rate and the River side setting is superb. As a contractor who works away from home quite a bit the magpie is a welcome and friendly pub.

We have been living in Lower Sunbury, for more than 5 years, and have seen the Magpie change hands several times. But I can truly say that its new management is by far the best so far. I go there regularly with loads of friends, and mostly rather loud and demanding women. And never once has Andy's team complained or... More

Enjoyed a reasonably priced, tasty lunch in the sunny garden overlooking the river. Good service, comfy seating and a good value lunch. Parking across the road for £1.50

Suggest parking in small car park across the meadow opposite (behind shops) Can go down slope to left of building to lovely riverside terrace with heating. If you enter from the street steep stairs take you down to a series of linked rooms with views across the river. Wide range of real ales etc. and a limited but adequate menu.... More

Popped in here to have a drink, check out the food menu and to sit on the riverside terrace that we had been told about. The pub was pretty busy serving late Sunday lunches and it proved very difficult to get a drink at the bar. Took the drinks outside to the much vaunted terrace and I have to say... More

First visit, and I really liked the venue. A little too cold to sit outside, but from our table right next to the window, and overlooking the river Thames, I could see what great potential this place has for sunny days, drinking and eating by the river. It was a very busy Mother's Day lunchtime and so we did have... More

I knew booking late for Mother's Day could be an issue, but I looked at the prices on the menu I presumed, rather stupidly in hindsight, that it would be reasonably good. There were 6 adults and 2 young children. 3 adults had roast chicken which I was extremely disappointed to find was actually 2 chicken legs. One of the... More

We popped in for a drink, bar area ok but we went outside where you can sit alongside the Thames in the sun, but then so do all the smokers, as a non smoker on a busy sunny day it might be hard going to sit outside.
