Welcoming with great food

Visit during the day and have a leisurely coffee and yummy cake or a lovely lunch - from well filled sandwiches to fabulous tapas plates, salads or soups. Friday night dinner is even better with fresh, local ingredients used in interesting and imaginative ways. There is also now a Pizza oven and... read more

I met a friend here for a coffee and catch up. The Bistro has a lovely welcoming feel and the staff are really friendly and attentive. The dark hot choc is scrummy! We sat on the sofa by the fire (it was not lit) it was really comfortable. I loved the tranquillity of the place it was really peaceful and... More

Been to the Bistro a couple of times now for their Friday evening meal. Each time the food has been first class. It's obvious everything has been made from both fresh and quality ingredients. The menu is not huge like some restaurants, but there is something for everyone with little extra touches, like a home made roll as soon as... More

A proper bistro feel about it. A small daily lunch menu and delicious brownies for those who only want coffee and cake. A laid back atmosphere which is ideal for chats or even meetings. Plenty of regulars - always a good sign.

I love the the log fire in this place. Try and claim the sofa in front of it and curl up with a book. it is very relaxed. The coffee is extremely good. The sandwiches are good value and delicious. Giant scones and biscuits available too! Staff very friendly.

Having only just discovered that the Bistro was opening on Friday evenings, we gave it a try and were very pleasantly impressed. It's a Tardis-like building with large tables and service was very pleasant. My mother ordered the duck confit, and was then told by Bob that only one duck leg was available (I've worried since about that poor hopping... More

Yesterday was the 3rd time we've eaten at the Bistro - apart from all the regular weekday coffees and cheese scones - since Bob and Karen started opening on a Friday evening. Another great meal . Really good atmosphere with the log fires and very festive at the moment. We're back again next Friday- what more can I say.

First of all, to the patronising fool from Cambridge who wrote the pointless review earlier, I'm one of the "sleepy Suffolk village" types who happens to think the panini are good. But then I'm only only comparing them against the panini I enjoyed daily during the two years I lived in the metropolis that is Rome... Other reviews aside I... More

We were on holiday in November and knew about this place as we had visited some years ago. On the day of our visit there was an open fire, very welcoming and inviting and helped to lull you into a sort of slumber! I had the squash soup which came with a huge chunk of bread washed down by a... More
