First Friday Visit

Having only just discovered that the Bistro was opening on Friday evenings, we gave it a try and were very pleasantly impressed. Yesterday was the 3rd time we've eaten at the Bistro - apart from all the regular weekday coffees and cheese scones - since Bob and Karen started opening on a Friday evening. Another great meal . Really good atmosphere with the log fires and very festive at the moment. We're back again next Friday- what more can I say.

First of all, to the patronising fool from Cambridge who wrote the pointless review earlier, I'm one of the "sleepy Suffolk village" types who happens to think the panini are good. But then I'm only only comparing them against the panini I enjoyed daily during the two years I lived in the metropolis that is Rome... Other reviews aside I... More

We were on holiday in November and knew about this place as we had visited some years ago. On the day of our visit there was an open fire, very welcoming and inviting and helped to lull you into a sort of slumber! I had the squash soup which came with a huge chunk of bread washed down by a... More

We've enjoyed this place for their daytime great soups and bread, homemade teacakes and excellent coffee. We were so pleased to find that The Bistro was opening on a Friday evening, and it did not disappoint. The menu was interesting, with a varied selection of starters, mains and desserts. I'm vegetarian and had good choices. The vegetables were cooked to... More

We've just returned home after a superb evening meal. Food, service, atmosphere all perfect for us. This is always our coffee shop of choice - now it will be a favourite for evenings too. Thank you!

This is a great little coffee shop, with wonderful coffee and excellent foods. We often go to eat their sandwiches and the Cappuccinos are excellent. Karen works incredibly hard behind the scenes making all the lovely cakes and sausage rolls. Well worth a visit if you are in the area. Don't go to WAITROSE CAFE walk round the corner and... More

This little bistro is the perfect pace to come and have something a little special. The ambiance is divine. I could have easily passed hours and hours in this charming space. Drinking good tea and eating even better food. Do not be fooled by its unassuming narrow purple door; inside there is much to treasure. Saxmundham has a lot to... More
