Great Sunday roast

We were a party of 6 adults and one British bull dog that stopped here on a Sunday afternoon without a reservation. The restaurant was very busy but we was lucky that a table in the bar free. We was very pleased to discover that the Moody Mare welcomed dogs in the bar area. A huge plus for us. We... read more

Visited this pub which is now called The Moody Mare on 23rd August 2015 and had the best Sunday lunch I have ever eaten out. The meal was really fantastic with loads of lovely vegetables and best roast potatoes ever, so crispy. Will certainly be visiting there again in the near future

We had friends visiting from London and wanted to take them to a nice place for lunch. After looking at the Moody Mare website and reading about their exciting new meals and head chef we decided to book - such a disappointment! We had to wait a long time for our starters and a table of two who sat and... More

We stopped off at The Moody Mare (formerlly The Beeches) for a bit of lunch as we were tired after a long trip back from Eastbourne. First impressions were good as it had everything we wanted - a small play area for our child, refreshing drinks and a simple basic lunch menu. Unfortunately our views rapidly declined with our drink... More

I recently visited for lunch, as part of a group. The initial impression was good, apart from a mop and bucket across the entrance to the toilets. The premises was clean, tidy and nicely decorated. The furniture appeared reasonably new and well cared for. Our table had been prepared. The menu was varied, from sandwiches, to a variety of hot... More

Just visited 'The Moody Mare' for the first time and had a lovely relaxing lunch. The building is traditional but the interior is light and airy with a modern twist. Tables are well spaced so you can talk freely without the next table eavesdropping. Purple linen napkins are a nice touch. Staff are friendly and welcoming. Whilst the menu is... More

First visit since the refurb and name change. Great service, very attentive staff who were keen to please. Had the Roast platter which was very tasty and plenty of it. Will be back for sure.

This was my first visit to the Moody Mare, with my daughter just having moved close by. There was a warm welcome and nice atmosphere. The only disappointment was the quite pricey food. What we had was very nice but for lunch time pub grub a bit over-priced in my opinion. The most disappointing was the ploughman's lunch which was... More

Unfortunately the cheese ploughman that my daughter and myself had was very very poor, can I suggest that the Chef takes himself/herself down to the Black Lion in Appledore where you get what you pay for
