Wonderful Dishes!

Must try: 1) Zaffrani Paneer Tikka 2) Kerala Appam with Vegetable Stu 3) Wide variety of Wines (I haven't tried any - i am a teetotaller) Every Evening, the management will organize a cultural event in the lawn which is located infront of the hotel. You can enjoy the dish with a cultural touch!

Nice place to grab a quick bite. There are many sea food varieties to pick and choose. Paturi fish and crab curry are something to definitely try

The tradition lives on. In a spirited new style. Baker's Gourmet House serves the best of Kerala cuisine, ranging from Syrian Christian to Travancore style preparations. Pastas from Italy, Oriental dishes from South East Asia and authentic Indian all time favourites. If you wish to go simple there's also very basic multi-cuisine comfort food too. And should you find the... More

Seeing that it was very highly reviewed restaurant, we decided to try it out which is adjacent to the place we stayed, Waterscapes. Knowing that being Taj it would be costly with good food. But surprisingly, the later part was not correct, the quality of food was like of an average resturant, we felt as if we wasted an evening... More

Bakers.. do not think of breads (i think they do sell though).. is a restaurant at the Taj.. its based at the 100 year old bungalow owned by the renowned Baker's family (once upon a time)... so, with food.. you will also enjoy a piece of Kumarakom heritage.. ambience is wonderful.. needless to say for a Taj.. set by the... We had almost every meal here during our three day stay at Kumarakom. The food was absolutely delicious - we especially loved the Pachakari stew with appams and the Ada Pradaman was one of the best desserts we have ever had. We were well looked after by Mr. Dutta, who offered great suggestions not just on the food but also... More

Excellent Choice for an Evening Get-together. If you are planning for a family get-together or an outing with friends, you may give this restaurant a try. The ambiance is really nice. Well maintained lawn, beautiful landscaping, a pond for pedal boating, trees and greenery all around the boundary are some of the attractions. Spending an evening with family or friends... More

Had a few dinners and couple of lunch when we stayed at Vivanta by Taj Kumarakom. Ambience was good, in the heritage Baker House. Tasty food, but options were limited. Especially if veg then very few options. But on the whole was ok.

We chose to eat at the Taj instead of Kumarakom Lake resort where we were staying. The Taj was more rustic and I loved the historic link with the Baker family. The hotel has been converted from the Baker home and this house featured in two books I was reading on the holiday: The God of Small Things and The... More
