Lovely but overpriced

We had an excellent lunch with friends. We all had steaks which is basically what they specialise in. Couldn't fault any of the food or the service but I have had equally as good steaks around the area for €5/6 per head cheaper. That coupled with the IVA added on after which again is unusual and... read more

We had solomillo al roquefort and a lomo alto de retinto and both where amazing, superb quality meat and the place is incredible! Do not miss this place if you are a meat lover!

Santa Lucia is famed for its still-functioning series of Roman aquaducs and fresh water springs. People come from miles to drink the water but the restaurant's bottled water comes from the Sierra Nevada. Dining in the cool shade of the garden's fruit trees and flowers is an experience not to be missed. Having to drive, we asked for just one... More

Wow. Castilleria was great. We were really lucky because tables are booked for the whole summer now, but I'm thinking to make reservations for next year already. We ordered castrated bull, Avila beef loin and pork chops, plus a cod and goat cheese salad. Specifically the Avila beef, was so tender, soft and tasty. Great wine, dessert, and the bill... More

As we had rented a villa in Santa Lucia we were pleased to find a rated restaurant in the village, as a Brit we arrived more or less on opening time without a reservation and were made to feel privileged that they could fit us in. The meal started with an amuse bouche (one small piece between two) which was... More

This is one of the best steak places around; so much so that I am reluctant to even share! It is known for its beef which therefore won't surprise the visitors on arrival to see an open kitchen with the meat on display in a large fridge. It is a meat Restraurant that does meat really really well. We had... More

This is a fantastic restaurant for meat. It is in the display counter at the front of the kitchen for you to choose/ask about cuts. The staff are fluent in several languages just ask for someone who speaks yours. Even when they don't they still try and help! The steaks are just fantastic, as are the starters and deserts. We... Having been here last month, it was not that long before we re-visited again and this time most of us ordered steak whereas last time we had a variety. The tenderloin was great and popular with many people but I also had a fantastic veal steak though can't recall exactly which one! It was a friday off season so the place... More

La Castilleria is located down the hill and across the highway from Vejer de la Frontera city center. Once turning to the right on Santa Lucia from the highway, one must drive all the way back on a narrow street. The restaurant is situated at the very end and has a parking lot available for 2 Euro. TIP: This restaurant... More

We went in March which was kind of low season, so the restaurant was only open for lunch. (They open for dinner starting in May.) This restaurant came highly recommended by friends and locals as having really good meat, probably one of the best in Europe. We were not disappointed. The covered terrace, supported by tree trunks, was very cozy,... More
