The food is fine - some dishes are even good, but it's let down by poor service. We were staying nearby, within walking distance, so we tried La Castilleria twice. We booked both times and each time were left waiting for over ten minutes. On the first occasion, no-one was visible - though with a booking in the diary it... More

pleasant ambiance, good service and... EXCELLENT food. Very good local starters, wonderful salads but most of all the grilled meat cuts which were very delicious.

We had a wonderful time and enjoy one of the best meals ever. Incredible meat that we all enjoy, good service and beautiful setting. Some starters were great, and some not to the level of the rest. The desserts made with organic eggs are memorable. Looking forward to come back next summer

Went here on my birthday with my 2 sons. The setting is fantastic and although we were a bit early we were served drinks promptly and could order our meal when we were ready. The meal was served at a leisurely pace and was delicious. The service was very good and we were given an excellent recommedation for wine. They... More

Our hosts had recommended this place when we said we wanted a nice steak. Trip advisor seemed to concur. We arrived early, got a great table and had a very interesting starter but when the main arrived, we both felt disappointed. A real shame as everything else about the place was superb; location, service, ambience etc. A real shame we... More

A 'must do' if you visit Vejer or around. Great location, excellent food, perfect service. This place used to be very basic, but the restaurant has been updated a few years ago. Today, in a glass house, in the middle of the restaurant, the excellent kitchen serves as the beating heart and eyecatcher in this family run restaurant. The place... More

A great place for a really nice evening, you have to go up a ridiculous wee road but it is well worth the effort. An idyllic setting amongst the trees ensures it is coolish on warm nights and the meat is excellent. The scrambled eggs with mushrooms and prawns was an interesting, tasty starter but the lomo ( entrecote )... More

Visited on recommendations from here but sadly aesthetics is all this place had to offer. Sweet setting, hard to find though, signs not well placed! Nice helpful waitress, drinks arrived quickly, sadly once the waiter came round with the food it all went wrong. I had a pepper and asparagus salad to start but it was almost pure vinegar, totally... After finding this place along a delightful windy road, we were sat in the wooden veranda with water trickling behind us providing a gentle cooling atmosphere. This is a meat-fan place.... You can tell as you see all the cuts and joints on display in the fridge as you pass the glass-walled kitchen. Not a place for veggies but then... More

After traveling 500 meters down the VERY narrow road towards the sleepy hamlet we were convinced that we had been misinformed. However, another 300 meters brought us to a small sign , "La Catilleria". Once there, a walk through a narrow alley reveals an oasis of green dotted with white linen clad tables, an open kitchen, and a windowed cooler... More
