Vejer's most popular restaurant has stone vaulted dining rooms and a lush palm-filled courtyard set in an emblematic 16th century building. 'The Caliph's Garden' is one of Andalucia's prime eating destinations. You will be served fabulous North African & Middle Eastern food in a historic, tranquil & unsurpassed setting in the heart of Vejer's medieval quarter. Overlooking the palm filled square of the medieval quarter the Jardín del Califa is inspired by the Moorish rule of Vejer over 700 years ago. The Jardin del Califa is set in one of Vejer's most important historic buildings. The principal building dates from 1527 (and includes parts from the 11th Century) and is now a grade 1 listed monument. The stone clad dining rooms and the palm filled courtyard are the perfect company for your meal with us. Come to the Califa and you will enjoy tasty dishes, stone vaulted cellars, an enchanted garden, a splashing fountain and scented plants. The haven of this quiet corner in the heart of Vejer will provide you with many memorable moments.

A boutique hotel with character and lots of charm

This is a small hotel which comprises of twenty rooms, three of which are junior suites, two of which have jacuzzis. The hotel comprises of five floors and the reception is situated on the third floor which is at ground level. It is Arabic themed and extremely well maintained. I stayed in a junior... read more

The site is gorgeous but we were rather disappointed by the food and service. Best described as 'Tourist Food' ... you come there once and that is it

We promise, we are not a "typical restaurant for tourists". The 50% of our clients are spanish and they are very exigents about food (as people from other countries, of course). We put all our love in all we do. I am sorry, I can not apologize about food and the service because you're not being very concise. Even so,... More

Vejer is about an hour drive from where we live in Sanlucar. Set up on a mountain, it's one of the white villages of southern Spain. Remember this fact for the end of my review. The Califa. What a lovely restaurant! We had a reservation for a mid-day lunch. By the time we left it was packed. Loved the ambience... More

We were staying in the hilltop village of Vejer - wanted to be close to beachfront villages (and their local tuna specialties). The Moroccan restaurant was recommended by locals and on-line, so we decided to give it a try. Offseason (November), but fully booked on a Saturday. Thankfully, and unlike many local restaurants, they are open Sunday. Located at the... More

Beautiful restaurant in a beautiful hotel, in one of the most attractive Plaza's in Spain. The food was great and reasonably priced. I wish there wasn't a but......but, the service was a bit over attentitive, and more annoying was their insistance on answering my Spanish in English. I'm a huge Spain fan and over the years have become reasonably proficient... More

We went here for my birthday and I loved everything about it. Off the beaten path in a historic cave dwelling, the atmosphere is second-to-none. And every dish was exceptional! We love Moroccan food; fusian is even better and more unique for my foodie husband. This is a must experience place. We're planning to head back here with visitors soon.... More
