You will be served fabulous North African & Middle Eastern food in a historic, tranquil & unsurpassed setting in the heart of Vejer's medieval quarter. We really liked the food. Nicely seasoned. The only thing I did not like was the too sweet baklava. In the high season you have to book at least a week in advance.

The place is an experience with a teteria and the garden restaurant. Service is very attentive and food is good. It was recommended to us twice. Food-wise it is nothing out of the ordinary but the place itself is a positive adventure.

I'm fortunate enough to be a regular visitor to vejer, and the califa is a 'must visit' restaurant every time ! Will appeal to all ages and tastes ....even teenage girls! Ate there last week and was as good as ever. My tip would be share one of the mezze platters for a starter or you will have no room... More

We ate in this restaurant on our first trip to Andalusia last year. We're really big fans of north African and Spanish cuisine and this didn't disappoint. We lived off the experience until our return six months later for our anniversary meal. How do we say we planned the trip around this restaurant without sounding completely bonkers? It lived up... We ate here two nights and were wise enough on the second night to share the main course. The food is Moroccan and delicious, beautifully presented. Access is a challenge though and the loo is down yet another floor. Well worth a visit but it is marked down a star merely because such daunting portions are upsetting to leave.

Great food in a great setting in a lovely little town. If you're staying in the Cadiz area, this is a welcome break from the topical fish and iberico meat dinners (which are lovely by the way). The restaurant is a beautiful place with a lovely interior garden and the food fantastic. It's also worth having a wonder around the... More

I tried to book a reservation here from the US before we left and they don't take online reservations during July and August. On our arrival in Vejer, I asked the manager of the house we were renting to please make a reservation for us. She did try to do so, bu it was booked for two weeks out and... More

We were very lucky to get a table to celebrate a family birthday at this well-known Moroccan restaurant in the picturesque town of Vejer. We had not booked, but the manageress found us a table that was not reserved until 10.30pm, and meaning we had an hour and three quarters to eat. Enough time not to be rushed, and enough... More
