Been waiting to get a reservation for so long and was so excited to be going there. What a disappointment of note! Waiters must be the most unfriendliest people in Cape town with an attitude problem. They think they do you a favour. No smiles or friendliness. When my friend's main course arrived there was a long black hair in... More

Definitely worth the cost and the wait for a booking. Excellent food and wine and beautiful presentation. Not to be missed whilst visiting Cape Town.

Amazing food, from the first course until dessert this restaurant was stunning. We had the chef's table to we were able to witness all the masterpieces made in the crowded kitchen

My husband and I had the 9 course dinner in April 2014. His with the wine pairing, mine with the tea pairing. The experience was incredible. Every course was sensational. The wine and tea pairing subtly enhanced each plate. Watching the chefs in the open kitchen cook food that bordered on art added to the theatre of the evening. Service... More

We were lucky enough to get the call up from the wait list for lunch while we were visiting Cape Town and so glad we did! We had the 5 course lunch with matching wines and couldn't fault it. We sat at the bar overlooking the kitchen and were very comfortable eating there. The quality and timing of the meals... More

I ate here with some business colleagues during Africacom in November 2014, based on the fact that this place is classed as South Africa's No1 restaurant. Not sure how it is classed as the No1 restaurant in South Africa as I've eaten in far better restaurants across the world, and in Cape Town for that matter! We did the wine... More

When I tried to book at the beginning of last summer there was nothing available so booked ahead for an "anniversary" lunch. As I write there are no dinner slots available now for 2015! We ate here first four years ago when it was new; the restaurant has since expanded but retains it's character. We had the five course tasting... More

My husband and i were in Cape Town on our honeymoon. We heard great things about the Test Kitchen and our travel agent put us on the wait list several months in advance. Although we did not get off the list for dinner, we did get off for lunch. The two of us sat at the bar and got to... More
