We were a family of seven, including one gluten free and one veggie. We had the best meal of our entire two weeks and for some crazy reason we only found this place on the last night of our two weeks in Castellane. Those who had the fillet steak said it was the best they'd had in France for years.... More

We had dinner here and really enjoyed every course, the lamb was beautifully cooked with a blend of local herbs and the beef with cepes succulent. Imaginative menu with fresh local ingredients!

“Very good Provençal dishes, acquainted with local cuisine. We ate in the restaurant twice. Highly recommended. Very reasonably priced. We ordered escargot, Cotes D'Agneaux and Piad et Paquets Maison. All very goot.

An unpretentious setting gives way to delicious rustic flavours at a price which represents great value. The lamb was especially good. Highly recommended.

We had dinner at this place twice and on both occasions left satisfied. The dishes served are genuine simple Provençal style so a relief from all the pizzerie around. The service is very good and friendly. Deserves a good TA rating in the hope they will keep it up!

We were there at high season and it was very busy. Without reservation we asked for a table and after some time they were able to make one available. Service and food was the best we expierienced in Castellano in our two days stay. Recommended!

Unfortunately nothing could compare to our meal the previous night at auberge du teillon so our expectations were low. In the event we had a pleasant if average meal. I had the lamb ribs (lamb chops to us Aussies) whilst my wife had the beef filet Charolais followed by icecream for me and a vodka colonel (an alcoholic sorbet which... More

We ate a very nice dinner here. The ingredients were all of obvious high quality and they are prepared so as not to mask this. The lamb was some of the most flavorful we have had and the trout tasted like the river. I would give this restaurant a strong recommendation. The whole experience was good.

There was not much choice in the menu, but that's somehow good because it is easier then to cook fresh products... We ordered a very nice and tasty lamb and a steak. They completely forgot about "rare cooking" for the steak so it was a little bit overcooked... but somehow it was good. These, two glasses of wine and two... More
