Description: Open all year, restaurant l'Anais is a hidden gem in the sud-Minervois. The superb period decor takes you back to Paris in the 1920's although the regular music nights have a more modern theme. Enjoy a glass of local wine at the pewter bar or indulge your tastebuds with the famous crème brûlée in the restaurant!

Visiting this region of France for the first time, I was relying on the local knowledge of a friend. Dinner in this beautiful restaurant was a real treat. I had the lamb shank which simply melted in your mouth. The meat was succulent and well prepared. Dessert was a mouth watering citrus tart with burnt caramel. They also had a... More

Accommodated our 30+ group excellently well. Great Pizzas and good local knowledge from an English speaking couple.

The food was really great and the prices are moderate. But I did not expect the personnel (that happen to be the owners) to speak perfect English.

We found L'Anais on the last night of our holiday, and really wished we had found it when we first arrived! A very enjoyable dinner was had by all! Good food, freshly prepared, well cooked and presented. I chose the "British" menu, unusual in the South West of France but absolutely delicious! Friendly service and a nice atmosphere! We will... This restaurant was recommended to us by a French couple who live in the village. It's not usually our style to eat Traditional British food out of Britain, but on our first visit a couple of months ago , we couldn't resist the posh fish and chips, and today the roast beef was a welcome change. The menu offers much... More

We were staying in Ginestas for a wedding and were happy to come across the restaurant on out first day for lunch. Food was delicious and freshly prepared. We later returned with others and were again not disappointed. Service is friendly and there is a good selection. Wine is plentiful and cheap! Overall excellent value in an area of France... More

Jo and Chris kindly offered us, for the third year, the use of their restaurant for a fund-raising evening; the local jazz/chanson quartet, Frisson, very generously offered to play for free - not even expenses! We filled the restaurant with 70 people; Chris gave our guests a choice of fish pie or steak/guinness pie - both absolutely superb, and for... More

Unusual art nouveau themed restaurant with a stage at one end, located in a rather pretty village. We needed a table for 10 and were not disappointed. A table was laid for us on the terrace which made the most of the attractive surroundings. Interesting menu with local specialities well prepared, cooked and served. Try the delicious house aperitif a... More

We live in France, and had heard on the local grapevine of a restaurant doing English roasts on a Sunday lunch. We decide to squeeze in a visit just before Christmas and were not disappointed. A three course meal, with a salad starter ( a little on the small side), a good roast beef with roast potatoes, yorkshire pud. etc..... More

Not even joking, we spent a week in Ginestas and we went there for dinner for 6 days, when the owner (a lovely british lady) told us they'd be closed on Monday my heart broke. I really really suggest you try the steak and the tartiflette pizza.
