Fantastic Fish and Chips

Nice atmosphere and excellent food. Two small rooms inside as well as nice deck, but too hot to eat outside. I had lamb shank which was good, while my wife had fish and chips which was amazing - probably best beer battered fish I have ever tasted. Our waiter, Alex, was very friendly and helpful.

We have vacationed in Thornbury for numerous years. This year we decided to dine out one evening and chose The Dam Pub. We hadn't made reservations, a must for an evening meal in the summer, and were received graciously. There happened to be a free table for two hours. We were seated and our orders taken in a timely manner.... More

Enjoyed Georgian White Fish our first time and burgers on a second outing. Service was so friendly and the ambience is very welcoming. This is definitely worth a visit if you like an informal night out at a decent price.

We went for rib night (Thursday night). The food was tasty and good value, but I have eaten better ribs. Good service, friendly servers. The only thing I did not like... I asked if I could have a side of vegetables instead of the sides that came with the ribs. The server said yes, I got a good portion of... More

We stopped at the Dam Pub for lunch as we made our way from Collingwood to Owen Sound. We were seated quickly and took a while to decide what to order because everything sounded so good. We (4 adults) decided on a Shepherd's Pie, a Ploughman's Lunch, and 2 Fish and Chips. Everything was delicious, although the Shepherd's Pie was... More

We visited Friday around dinner time as we heard Thornbury has better restaurants than Collingwood where we were staying. We saw the Reservations only sign but decided to ask if we could still be accommodated and we were. Given our Scottish heritage we were excited to try out this place. The service was very good. There are daily specials outside... More

Great spot for any celebration - especially when the person of honour loves scotch. With over 700 single malts to choose from my Scottish Mom was in a happy place! Great ambiance, excellent staff and delicious food. A must visit for anyone who is visiting the area.

Where can you go and get fresh food and a tattoo to prove it? The Dam Pub in Thornbury of course. My husband and I had a nice ride up there and showed up without reservations on Saturday. What an awesome meal, service and atmosphere. Stephanie was our waitress and she was lovely. I ate the organic salmon with the... More

Been here twice for such a great deal on wonderful sticky ribs. Half rack for $9.99 (with fries and slaw...and yes I ate every last morsel) plus $5 Muskoka pints makes for a great night out, especially when the weather co-operates and the patio is calling your name. Whole rack of ribs available too, but forget price. Lots of other... More

We were in Collingwood for a week at a timeshare where the concierge suggested the Dam Pub as we were interested in local food prepared tastefully. She was right. When we arrived at the pub, Stephanie, the owner, told us they were backed up in the kitchen so she could seat us if we did not mind waiting. She brought... More
