We dropped in to the Bears Paw after a day in nearby Delamere Forest in need of some good food and a place to sit with our dog. The bears paw had plenty of parking space and a great beer garden with dog bowls of water out. The menu was good, the bar staff friendly and attentive. The kitchen made... More

We dined as a party of four, at the newly refurbished pub.lovely setting right by the canal. we ate inside the pub, but would like to return on a warm day as there is plenty of out door seating for dining outside. The staff were very pleasant and the service was good. There is plenty of choice on the menu... More

Visited recently with friends and was pleasantly surprised by the fabulous new decor. What a change! I'd been months earlier and it's a different pub! Food was fantastic-ordered the curry. It was really tasty and a good portion size (if not too much!). Others had the pie and fish and chips. All commented on how delicious it was. Arrived quickly... More

We decided to try somewhere different and this place is so pleasing to the eye it looks like quality but that is where it ends! We went to order Sunday lunch and we were informed their was a 40 minute wait for food , now the place wasn't overly busy so we presumed it must be due to the food... More

After a lick of paint & some furniture directly imported from King Henry VIII's parlour there is no place I'd rather meet those less fortunate than I (Dr Ranulph). As a PhD holder I expect the highest level of service, and this establishment is adequate. On the other hand I almost dropped my £4,000 wallet when I saw the price... More

Took a diversion through Frodsham as the motorway was blocked and decided to stop for dinner, choice of several pubs on the Main Street, but chose the Bears Paw as it looked the most appealing from outside. I have driven past the pub many times over the last 50 years and never been in. The building itself is almost 400... More

Jumped off train at Frodsham last night on way home from work (Chester) to meet hubby for a birthday drink or two for me, with no actual intention of eating at Bears Bar, but after a couple of drinks and seeing food coming and going, decided we would stay and eat there, it looked so nice. Glad we did, (I... More

We were going from Liverpool Airport down to Chester and it was lunchtime. the north side of Cheshire seems like a restaurant-desert. Could we find anywhere? We drove around, we walked around and eventually stumbled into Frodsham and spotted this pub. It was certainly a welcome site although not at all easy to get too. There was nothing telling us... Nice friendly atmosphere with good service reasonably priced and the food is always hot.could do with a bit of a facelift and I understand this is to be done which will make it even better to visit for a meal out.

A good place to meet up with friends before going out for the evening. Very friendly venue. Excellent staff pleasant helpful not work shy. The food is good although I have only had lunch here! It's the same menu mostly for the day. It also has a large outside eating and drinking area.. A really good car park is nearby.
