En route from Wales to Scotland & we rang ahead to see if a table was available as it was fathers day, the young lady who answered said she would call me back as there was a table nearly finished but she wasn't sure if they would be having a dessert, she called back a few minutes later to say... read more

Poor food, poor service. Rib eye steak was as though it had been cooked, frozen, then cooked again it was poorly cooked twice in which both times it was sent back politely and quietly. The staff was rude when my friend sent back her steak and she also refused to pay for the sides that went with the meal as... More

We came upon the Travellers Rest by chance and decided to stop for some lunch. It was a thoroughly enjoyable experience - the waitresses who served us couldn't have been more helpful and the food was lovely. We hope to visit again as the Sunday lunches sound very appealing!

Really imaginative menu served by friendly staff in a nice atmosphere. Well done travellers! We called at lunch time and had a sandwich which came with a little pot of soup (delicious) and chips - the hot food was piping hot and the sandwich was massive, fresh and tasty. Lovely.

As a fan of eating out I have been to quite a few restaurants but can safely say that I shall be revisiting this one. Now to the food...... More
