This is a lovely little country pub which serves delicious fresh and home cooked food! There is parking available outside and the staff have always been welcoming whenever I've visited. There might be cheaper places to eat locally but the quality of the food at the travellers rest reflects the prices, you get what you pay for :)

Excellent fresh food, excellent customer service. Beautiful roaring fire place and an excellent pint of black sheep to go with it.

I visited today and was pleasantly surprised. It looks better on the inside than first impressions outside. There was a lovely real fire going and food was lovely. Staff were informative and polite. I'd definitely like to go back and try some different dishes.

Four of us had four different meals and all were very good, my mussels were overcooked, easily done, but this was compensated by the excellent creamy sauce. The liver and bacon, gammon and steak and ale pie were all very well accepted. HOWEVER!!! The meal was overshadowed by our first interaction with the bearded young man who appeared to be... More

I have spoken to the staff members that were on shift that day( the young bearded man being one of the owners!) and this is what happened that day! You walked straight in and took it upon yourself to sit wherever you wanted,(on a table for six) when the "young man" came over to you you said straight away that... More

Me and my partner went here a few weeks ago and I have only just had the chance to write a review. We went on a Tuesday and it was very busy which we took as a good sign. The food was fantastic and I would highly recommend. You could tell that everything was homemade. The waitress was very friendly... More

Had a meal and a pint with my partner. Food was reasonable priced and was lovely. The pint of black sheep was even better. Bob Carolgees was drinking at the bar too. What more can you want!
