Lovely meal and great service

The last time I ate here was over 20 years ago but it still retains its charms and was lovely. The food is of a very high quality - my only criticism was that my veggie curry was a bit bland, there was no heat or real spice taste but it was well cooked and I even got extra fresh... read more

The main restaurant does not open before 7pm and before that you can only order light bites in the bar. So we waited and went to the restaurant. The staff are a little preoccupied chasing in the back so order two drinks each! Food took a long time but the mixed grill was excellent. The fillet was overcooked and so... More

There have been mixed reviews about the afternoon tea, so i'll have to be very honest about our experience here. I was a little uncertain of where to go or whether I had been correctly seen to when we arrived, however we went with it and took a seat in the bar area. We were served at this table, after... More

Use the Old Hall a number of times through out the year for special occasions and always have an enjoyable meal. You sit in the lounge areas first with a drink if you wish, warm fires and comfy sofas. You choose your menu, then escorted to your table when it is ready. Coffee time you can stay at your table... This was supposed to be a pre-christmas treat but to be honest it fell a little flat. It was very busy and the staff were a little bit stretched making the pace pretty leisurely. The main courses were however excellent and well presented, I had a gammon steak and the Mrs had duck; but the bakewell tart I had was... More

We visited at a lunchtime and had a meal in the bar area. Although the food was nice, Caesar Salad, Vegetarian Bean Burger & Cottage Pie, the room we were in was really cold. The fire was an electric fire which didn't give out any heat as it was just for show and the radiator wasn't on. The windows were... More

Hadn't been here for 15 yrs. Out for lunch with father in law and sister in law. Cosy lounge then through into restaurant. Nice options , attentive polite service. Our mains were served with good portions of vegetables. Both the turkey and the pork deemed a success. Will hope to return in less than 15yrs

With close relatives I had a very pleasant and scrumptious lunch at the Old Hall today. Lunch times are never very busy there during the week so it was fairly quiet. It was a market day on the High Street outside so perhaps that accounted to some extent for the lack of diners. Most market shoppers are not looking for... More

Yet another enjoyable meal was had with good friends. Fortunately the staff were a little more attentive then previous which made the world of difference. The meal was beautifully presented & tasted devine. Will definitely be dining here again when we're next in Frodsham. Keep up the good work.

Beautiful old hotel. Excellent food and welcome. Staff are very friendly. Lovely to be able to relax in the lounge after your meal, never made to feel rushed.
