Formerly known as The Drovers, The Gaping Gander, The Rowlands and the plain old Helter Skelter, Oswalds@Helter Skelter is a good old-fashioned pub serving real beer and real food. The first floor of this Cheshire restaurant serves a mix of traditional and contemporary cuisine, including meals such as black pudding with potato rosti, bacon and a tomato sauce, swordfish with chilli prawns, chorizo and wild rice and duck with a plum and ginger sauce, while the 'Home Comforts' section offers dishes like a cask ale pie served with chips and peas. A pub that serves good food and a good pint - It doesn't get much better than that!

Popped in today for a quick drink with a friend but was tempted by the soup of the day - celery, apple and Stilton so ordered 'soup and a sandwich'. The soup was deeeeelicious. I had crayfish sandwich which was massive and full of filling. My friend had beef sandwich. We were both stuffed by the end of it and... More

Comfortable (but not luxurious) bar downstairs serving the widest range of beers, ciders and wines within many a mile. It has won the CAMRA award many times. Excellent food served in the bar or upstairs in the restaurant. Close to the railway station and free car park within 5 minutes walk.

We often meet a couple of friends in Frodsham for a meal and catchup so we have tried a few different places to eat and to be fair they all have their good points, but the Helter Skelter is by far the best one yet. A bit nondescript at the front but very cosy inside and a very nice restaurant... More

What a choice of real ales, we were totally amazed at 12 real ale draft beers and real cider. We cannot say any more, apart than, any real ale or cider drinkers visiting Frodsham really must visit Helter Skelter. Great bar.

You will find it extremely difficult to find any restaurant within the Chester area that serves food and drink of this high quality. The beer is always consistent and after eating lunch on many occasions we decided to try Oswalds and it didn't disappoint! The staff were also fab. Thank you for a great experience

Used a tastecard here and the value was incredible. The food was well above expectations too! Definitely worth a visit. Karen was running the whole place by herself and was doing a great job!
